Sunday column ping

Stick to your guns, Scott
By Howie Carr | Sunday, September 30, 2012 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists

Don’t let up on the fake Indian, Scott.

Is she going to stop mentioning that you’re a Republican? Of course not. So why would you choose to unilaterally disarm?

They want you to be “gentler”? Ask your friend John McCain how gentle worked out for him.

Since she began checking the box, Granny Warren’s life is a testament to the truth of Sir Walter Scott’s immortal line: “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.”

She’s always backpedaling, covering up her tracks, trying to explain away some hole in last week’s explanation that has since been rendered inoperative by a new inconvenient truth.

You needn’t keep banging away on her fake-Indian problem. She keeps digging that hole deeper and deeper herself. This week’s TV spot about her parents’ so-called elopement — she’s throwing her own paternal grandparents under the bus as racists. Isn’t family lore great?

One thing I would bring up again is the $750,000 paycheck she and her husband collect from Harvard Law. That really hit home in Jon Keller’s debate. Everybody has high tuition bills to pay. People were talking about that revelation for days afterwards.

The no-interest $50,000 loan from Harvard also is worth revisiting. This is a woman who has led an incredibly privileged life, post-checking the box. For example, she and her daughter — the second-generation moonbat who got the state to send out voter-registration forms to all welfare recipients, including illegal aliens — wrote a book in 2005 entitled “All Your Worth: The Ultimate Lifetime Money Plan.”

Check out the Amazon reviews. Certain words recur: “simplistic” and “fairytale.” As one reader put it: “I doubt the authors have any real experience in the real world.”

I was surprised in the first debate that she didn’t mention her baby, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. You should be ready for it, though, Scott. Just read the Wall Street Journal op-ed by a Texas congressman that ran Sept. 19.

A few highlights of the story: The CFPB budget is $447 million; about 60 percent of the 958 employees make over $100,000 a year; the director’s secretary gets $165,139; they print documents in 187 languages ... this is Granny’s greatest achievement, another out-of-control, do-nothing bureaucracy full of otherwise unemployable lawyers. And you can bet it’ll protect consumers just about as effectively as the SEC shielded investors from Bernie Madoff over the decades.

No need to ask her again to release her law school employment applications. She can’t, obviously, or her campaign is over. So hit her on yet another of her stonewalls — she won’t give up the list of millionaires and billionaires she’s been consulting for, even though she’s required to report them all to Harvard Law School.

As The Wall Street Journal said yesterday, voters need to know who else she’s been working for besides LTV Steel and Travelers Insurance so they “can decide for themselves if she’s really a handmaid to the plutocrats disguised as Robin Hood through November 6.”

One last thing: If she brings up Sen. Jim Inhofe again, tell her if she’s really worried about him she ought to think about running against him. In her home state of Oklahoma.

I know that in addition to using her Harvard address as a mailing address for her legal practice she also used her Cambridge home in connection with her legal work. Since she has now admitted she never held a law license in Ma. It would be interesting to see if she took federal and state deductions on her tax returns for the office.

Ease up on Fauxcahontas, will ya?

It ain't easy preserving Native American Culture in high places. Why should she be a member of the MA Bar? Was frickin' Squanto a member of the Bar? Just look at all he did for us white folk! OOPS. That's YOU white folks, since I have just discovered my Passamaquoddy roots. And no, you cynical bastards, it has nothing to do with my fair share of the $450 Million settlement.

LOL and then a ROLF! I viewed the first seven minutes of the debate. Then the two political adds. Well golly whiz.
She probably figures if the usurper in the WH can get away with not releasing any of his records, then she might as well follow down that same path.

Special Tue. column ping. (Radio news: Talk Radio Network has given the Savage slot, normally 6-9p ET nationally,
to Jerry Doyle. On WRKO Boston, they are now running Mark Levin 7-10 pm then Doyle though Doyle had a fill in last night (Doyle was already in that slot).
I didn’t catch the debate...figured I’d get highlights later. Can’t take Warren’s voice. It says something that I did tune in later to hear a bit of Todd Feinburg and
Michele McScreamer’s take on it. I could take McScreamer’s
voice, but not Warren’s. i.e., Warren’s is even worse to me.

Does Granny Warren really believe everything she said last night in Lowell?

I mean, this woman is a moonbat’s moonbat. She makes Obama look like a moderate.

Two weeks ago, she was wringing her hands about higher college tuitions. Last night she repeated (or Scott Brown did it for her) that she’s for in-state tuition for illegal aliens — which amounts to free tuition for people in the country illegally. But not for kids from New Hampshire whose parents pay income tax in Massachusetts.

She also supports driver’s licenses for illegal aliens. Professor Warren, how about driver’s licenses for drunken drivers? Why should one class of criminals be discriminated against in favor of another?

The debate took place on a warm October evening — Elizabeth Warren summer.

Granted, Scott Brown still has the steeper hill to climb. He’s a Republican. He’s also an adult. This woman is untethered from the truth. So were her supporters in the Tsongas Center.

At the start when David Gregory mentioned the fake-Indian controversy, they softly hissed him. How dare he! Then she claimed she didn’t lie for five weeks about not knowing that Harvard was touting her as a “woman of color.”

“I answered it when I understood it,” she said, with forked tongue. It took her five weeks to understand Hillary Chabot’s question?

Hey, maybe this is working for her. Perhaps the state is totally overrun with Kool-Aid drinkers who think the last four years have been great, and that if only we could borrow another $10 trillion from China and add another 15 million to the food stamp rolls....

She’s for Obama’s “jobs bill.” Too bad she wasn’t here in Boston during the ’70s. Did she ever hear of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA)? City Hall trained a lot of hacks, for careers in the hackerama. Most of them never worked again.

Her only ammunition is Brown’s votes on all these fake roll-calls. Who’s her trainer, Chuck Schumer? She uses her talking points like a crutch — “millionaires and billionaires” and “subsidies for big oil.”

Big oil made $137 billion in profits last year! And how much did Big Government make in taxes on “Big Oil”? She was so out of gas at the end that she used the word “hammered” again.

Brown at least has new material for every debate. My favorite was when she brought up the “Buffett rule” and he came back with, “We already have a Buffett rule in this state. You can voluntarily pay higher state taxes. She chose not to.”

I’m sure he rehearsed this line too: “Excuse me, I’m not a student in your classroom.”

Granny’s the classic modern Democrat. She can’t even name a Republican she’d work with — at least one who’ll be there in January. To her, the only compromise is when Republicans surrender. She never saw a tax she didn’t want to raise — except her own.

“I’m from here,” Scott Brown said to begin his closing statement.

Yes he is. And Granny is from ... Harvard.

Wed column ping

It’s lights, camera... and drool all over Obama
By Howie Carr | Wednesday, October 3, 2012 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists

The only place to watch tonight’s presidential debate is on C-SPAN.

You know what everyone on every network except Fox is going to say. Comrade Chris Matthews’ leg is going to be tingling out of control. Sgt. Ed Schultz and Rachel Maddow will be breathlessly reading phony stories from the Internet about dissension in the GOP ranks.

On CNN, “Republicans” Alex Castellanos and David Gergen will compare Barack’s closing statement to the Gettysburg Address and the Sermon on the Mount. David Brooks will swoon as he notes the perfect crease in Obama’s trousers.

All of these trust-funded parrots — the pundits, the bow-tied bumkissers, the throne sniffers — will agree that it’s all over and Mitt might as well throw in the towel.

Talk about marching in “lockstep,” to use a favorite word of both U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and Granny Warren on Monday night in Lowell.

But don’t let the Democratic agitprop get you down. Just watch the debate on C-SPAN and then, as soon as it’s over, flip over to a radio talk show, or the Internet.

The courtiers on the alphabet networks are just trying to depress you. They want you to stay home on Nov. 6. This is always done in campaigns — in World War II, the Axis had Tokyo Rose and Lord Haw-Haw spouting propaganda to the Allies over shortwave radio. Of course, the difference is, they were broadcasting from behind enemy lines.

Tonight’s Lord Haw-Haws will be trying to destroy morale from posh TV studios in New York and Washington. They ride around the East Side in limousines, make seven-figure salaries and summer on Nantucket. They’re the one percent.

Some have speculated that the network touts might try to keep Mitt viable, to goose ratings and keep a semblance of a horse race going. That may have been true until recent times, but now, the watchdogs are lapdogs. They can’t help themselves. They worship at Barack’s feet.

How can it be that Mitt Romney putting his dog in a crate on the roof of his car is approximately 100 times as big a story as Barack Obama actually eating one in Indonesia?

But there’s good news. For a lot of these obsequious, squirrely Uriah Heeps, this is the last go-around. Their newspapers — and maybe networks — aren’t going to exist in another four years. Re-electing Obama only will hasten the demise of the lame-streams.

Your average elite reporter is about as truthful as Granny Warren. Think “fake but accurate,” a famous headline about a hoax “60 Minutes” fabricated for the Democrats in 2004.

Here’s another example of fake news. On Jan. 10, 2010, the Sunday Globe ran a front-page story about Marsha Coakley’s commanding lead in the Senate race with nine days to go.

“Democrat Martha Coakley ... enjoys a solid, 15-percentage-point lead over Republican rival Scott Brown as the race for U.S. Senate enters the homestretch, according to a new Boston Globe poll of likely voters. ... Coakley’s lead grows to 17 points — 53 to 36 — when undecideds leaning toward a candidate are included in the tally.”

Nine days later, Scott Brown won, 53-47. Anyone know what channel C-SPAN is on in Brighton?

Not sure where you heard that but Howie IS on.

I heard it from Todd's own mouth yesterday morning, he said it more than once. However, he should have said that mcscreamer was filling in the last hour instead of making it sound like she was doing the whole show. Todd also said that mcscreamer wanted to do the morning show and Howie's show but cooksey wouldn't let her. Apparently she was all fired up over the debate the nite before.

Fri column ping, below. First: a bit of news. There may be no more, or VERY FEW, sports pre-emptions on WRKO (I say that knowing that some will occasionally occur—maybe on weekends?) now that the switch has been pulled...namely, WEEI-FM 93.7 still has local talk and the C’s and Sox, but WEEI (AM) 850 is now
all ESPN. This also includes things like the MLB playoffs on 850.

In the past when there was a conflict you could have gotten
Sox or C’s pregame, etc. bounced to RKO but that may happen rarely if ever now. According to PD Jason Wolfe, the Red Sox have priority on WEEI-FM 93.7 and IF there’s a conflict with
a Celtics game, WEEI 850 will air the C’s. If the Celtics
are in the playoffs, the C’s would be on WEEI-FM and the
Sox on WEEI (AM).

In the past they would have put the Sox on WRKO with the C’s on both WEEI AM and FM, but apparently that won’t happen now. So little if any situations of Howie being prempted
on RKO for the VERY exciting Red Sox or Celtics game.
There still could be pre-emptions on WCRN 830, etc.
and for those in Vermont I believe the Yankees are still
on WVMT 620, so there could be pre-emptions there.

Confused? You won’t be after this next episode of
As the Radio Dial Turns...

Obama’s free ride over
By Howie Carr | Friday, October 5, 2012 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists

Is it time to bomb Libya?

If ever Barack Obama needed a “Wag the Dog” moment, this is it.

The mainstream media are still in a state of shock, disbelief. They feel worse than Seamus the dog did at the end of his roof-crate trip to Michigan.

Good luck getting a grief counselor this weekend. They’re all over at MSNBC and Morrissey Boulevard.

Never bring a community organizer to a CEO fight.

Barack was Richard III on Bosworth Field, minus the hunchback: “A teleprompter, a teleprompter, my kingdom for a teleprompter.”

We’ve all known that Barack Hussein Obama has had a free ride his entire life, but the guy is 51 years old. Did it never occur to him that perhaps at some point in his entitled life there would come a moment when he couldn’t hide behind the skirts of his guilt-ridden trust-funded moonbat acolytes?

Sometimes, dear Barack, the fault is not in the alleged racism, but in ourselves.

Put it another way, you can’t always vote present. You’re not in Springfield, Ill., anymore.

Where was the Obamaphone woman from Cleveland when he needed her?

Two of the best lines of the evening were tweeted by somebody going under the handle of @Iowahawkblog:

• “Breaking: Choom Gang revokes Obama’s membership.”

• “ ‘What the (expletive) is this? I was specifically told I’d be debating John Kerry.’ — Inside Obama’s head”

Clint Eastwood debated an empty chair. Mitt Romney debated an empty suit.

How about Al Gore blaming Barack’s wretched performance on the altitude in Denver, “the Mile High City?” So did somebody order the president to take a three-day vacation in Las Vegas?

And wasn’t he the one who three years ago advised Americans not to go to Vegas anymore?

If Michelle’s post-debate looks could kill, they’d still be scraping Barack’s remains off the walls of that building at the University of Denver. Dinner last night at the White House was hot tongue and cold shoulder.

Nice touch by Mitt to compare Barack to his “five sons,” as in, you’re acting like a child.

And he was. Even yesterday, back out on the campaign trail, Barack was telling his Obamaphone fans that Romney wasn’t willing to be held “accountable.”

Barack apparently forgot that he’s the president. He’s the one who’s supposed to be held accountable.

But people like Barack don’t expect to ever be held accountable. Truman said the buck stops here. Barack says the buck stops with you.

In his closing statement (if you can call that gibberish a statement), Barack said of American traditions, “All those things are designed to make sure that ... everybody’s getting a fair share.”

Barack finally got his fair share last night. Better late than never.
