I totally agree.

Everything these days has got to be all Java, and I think it’s a bunch of crap!

If I could still be able to browse the web at all without it, I would TOTALLY turn it off and remove it!

I have Noscript, that disables most of it.

This one gives you something the others cannot. See the PATTERN of Earthquake activity.

See Earthquake activity all around the WHOLE PLANET, all at once. Zoom IN/OUT, Rotate the Earth at will. Change the viewing options. Change the MAGNITUDE and TIME PERIOD you wish to view at will.

EARTHQUAKE 3D. Download the program, run it. The program only take 2 seconds to download.

It automatically UPDATES and ..... IT’S FREE !!!!!!!!!!!

Only time will tell....

Look on the bright side, the bible also says that God has hidden treasures in the deep, maybe one of these earthquakes opens up the earth and find a new big gold vain... another California gold rush..

Those USGS ones are OK, but they show only a localized area.

I.E. You can see all that ‘activity’ but you can’t see the relationship between those local quakes and quakes on the other side of the planet.

EARTHQUAKE 3D lets you see EVERYTHING.

AND IT’S FUN (and free). I spent 2 hours just playing with the controls.

Try it and see if you don’t see things in a way you never could before.

Sorry about the miss spelling of earthquake.

Hit "Abuse" and ask the mods to correct the title.

The pacific rim gets about 3,000 quakes a year.
Southern California has had a swarm of small quakes the last several months.

Any support of popular media in any form supports the enemies of the Constitution.

The internet is the only free media... while it lasts.

Well, it could be in the differnces twixt subduction and transpression. This one was fairly deep. But if you look at localized earthquake maps you’ll see things popping all the time. It’s statistical.

The gold is for the folks who want to get out of California... the liberals will be to busy protesting God for sending the earthquake.

Wow... That’s weird. I was commenting to a totally separate thread and somehow it ended up in here.

Wonder if that’s a seismic shift...?

I totally agree. Everything these days has got to be all Java, and I think it’s a bunch of crap!

Drudge was so successful I think because he kept is web page simple in the early year when everyone else was trying to make their web pages graphics instensive but early computers could not keep up. He kept it to simple links, quick loading and only a couple of pictures.

He has since added more pictures but only at the rate that the computers out there could handle them quickly.

It is the most simple website on the internet and one of the most successful, proving that you and I are correct.

I live in Dallas....Never felt a thing.

You should know that each “point” on the chart is 10X. So a 3.0 magnitude quake is 1/10 the strength of a 4.0, which is 1/10 the strength of a 5.0....

Essentially a 3.0 is like a big truck going down your alley.....pretty wimpy

I have the “Quakes” app on my Iphone. It’s very cool. lets you know whenever a quake occurs and where with what magnitude. You can set the magnitude threshold for alerts.
