"I was there. She is gorgeous in person, and was very gracious to the huge line of invitees eager to acknowledge her contributions."

We're all entitled to our opinions. Mine is that Ann isn't unattractive, but her legs are far too thin for short skirts.

Also, wouldn't you expect graciousness and courtesy to the folks buying her book?

I don't know that anyone is entirely dismissing everything Ann has done. I'm certainly not.

I own Demonic, Godless, Guilty, and How To Talk To a Liberal If You Must. I enjoyed them greatly. But for me, Ann lost the right to preach conservatism to me when she cheered socialized healthcare and tried to make the case for it. Also, when she defended Bill Maher after he mocked Rick Santorum's children, I was completely turned off.

I don't demand perfection, but I do insist on certain minimum standards. Ann just doesn't interest me any longer.

Having waited outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures with my child to receive an autograph from Tom Hanks years ago when he was filming in my neighborhood, only to receive a snarky reply to my greeting, I would say "not really." And secondly, since she is known for her biting sarcasm, "probably not." Therefore it came as a very pleasant bonus.

At least in this post, you are speaking of substance, not clothing and manners. And in the "fair and balanced" spirit here on FR, I would appreciate any links you might have so I can read what you are referring to before engaging in any further debate with you. Thank you! :-)

Ad hominem criticisms of personal appearance as well as the worship of personal appearance also belong to the left, as highlighted by the witticism to which this discussion has responded.

My issue is not one of appearance, but of principle whoredom that Ann has indulged in with her support of Romney, including calling his socialistic Healthcare program, RomneyCare, conservative.

She has traded all of her principles, all of her political capital away this election season with her support of Romney and attacks against anyone who was not supporting him.

To me, she is nothing short of a political whore.

Precisely so, and which is why I will never buy another one of her books, or read another column.

Here is where Ann "Romney" Coulter went off the rails proposing that the socialized medicine health plan, known as RomneyCare, was actually the conservative solution.

And just so we are clear, this is the HealthCare plan that had the following components to it:

1. Individual Mandate
2. A hefty fine if you didn't participate
3. Used the taxpayer's taxes to subsidize those who could not "Afford" health insurance, AKA, redistribution of wealth.

With regards to Ann and Rick's children, she doesn't state anything directly concerning Maher's comments about Rick's children, but she states he is kind of funny right after Maher makes those statements. See it here.

Hey, I went on a date with a woman who admired communist Cuba once. That was in early 2004, and was the closest I came to the Dark Side since I actually was a liberal. She, however, hardly rose to the monstrosity of Bill Maher (re: Ann Coulter’s dating habits).

meaning I ONCE went on a date with her. Then I fell out of touch. For all I know, she still admires Cuba.

Why do I suddenly feel like I’m being talked down to, anyway? She helped the GOP foist the WORTS possible candidate on us. Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to contribute to him and vote for him, since he’s running against an Islamophiliac Marxist, but it cannot be forgotten how she helped drag us into this mess.

I might have a little bit of respect left for her if she simply said 'I like Romney's health care plan and I support it' but when she says 'it's conservative' she puts herself squarely in the Snake Oil Salesman category of political hucksters.

Whales are not large sardines.

Only an idiot would bite the hand that feeds it!

Therefore it came as a very pleasant bonus.

Now that's weird! Get out more. Comparing Ann to Tom Hanks is weird, also. Take her off the pedestal.

You disaffected FReepers, ..... in addition to her earlier work exposing and documenting liberal bias, tactics and totemism, it is unfair to dismiss entirely her service to the U.S. conservative movement.

I'm disaffected? And you ASSUme I don't have/read her other books? And then you go on about being unfair? GET your oil checked.

Ad hominem criticisms of personal appearance as well as the worship of personal appearance also belong to the left, as highlighted by the witticism to which this discussion has responded.

Note - you posting about worship is laughable after reading your posts about Ann.

Ann sells conservatism because, by her own words, "Conservatism sells". She does NOT walk the talk. It has NOTHING to do with being perfect but honest.

I read the entire article. Her arguments drilled deep into the substance of the situation as it then stood in Massachusetts, in which Romney proposed a plan to counteract the double-whammy of hospitals already forced to donate health care to non-payers, and the state running a large $1.2 billion expense as a result. His proposal was to offset this expense. Her article goes on to explain how Democrats then so distorted and changed the proposals that it became a similarly luxurious entitlement program like Obamacare, which she denounced earlier in the article, and which she quoted Romney as denouncing. Romney was leading a nearly solidly Democrat state, and it is a wonder to me he got elected at all. And he could have been dead wrong in signing the amended bill; then again, the legislature could have overridden a veto.

It's possible that many who did see this column never read past her typically sardonic headline, "Three Cheers for Romneycare!" to analyze her points about how it might have worked AT THE STATE LEVEL IN THAT STATE, NOT THE NATION if not for the Democrat meddling there.

To your second point, I am willing to believe that she could have erred in her often-careless sarcasm, if she used it to defend ugly remarks by Maher about Santorum's children, since she and Maher have been friends for a long time. I, too, *gasp* have some liberal friends from 'way back that I am reluctant to dismiss from my life entirely. Unfortunately for this discussion, I went to the link to hear her remarks myself, but the video had been removed from the blog post you linked to, so I can't say a final yea or nay on that.

It's possible that many who did see this column never read past her typically sardonic headline, "Three Cheers for Romneycare!" to analyze her points about how it might have worked AT THE STATE LEVEL IN THAT STATE, NOT THE NATION if not for the Democrat meddling there.

And none of your response does nothing to remove the following facts already posted to you:

1. Individual Mandate
2. A hefty fine if you didn't participate
3. Used the taxpayer's taxes to subsidize those who could not "Afford" health insurance, AKA, redistribution of wealth.

And just because it was at the state level, doesn't mean it still wasn't socialistic in nature, only that Romney, Ann, and apparently yourself, would like to hide a "turd" under the 10th amendment.

Probably, if I was to venture a guess, to keep the truth, where Ann Coulter is concerned, front and center.
