Poll: Americans Say Middle Class Better Off With Obama Than With Romney

By David Hill - October 1, 2012

More than half of Americans think the middle class would benefit more from a second term for President Obama than the election of Republican challenger Mitt Romney, according to a poll released Monday.

The Gallup poll shows that 53 percent of Americans give Mr. Obama an edge in helping middle-class people, compared with just 43 percent for Mr. Romney. Respondents in the poll also said another Obama term would be better for racial and ethnic minorities, lower-income Americans, women, young adults and senior citizens, while a victory for Mr. Romney would be better for men, investors and upper-income Americans.

The poll was split on how small-business owners would be affected by the presidential race, with each candidate getting support from 47 percent of respondents.

The poll was split largely along party lines, as Democrats gave Mr. Obama an overwhelming edge in most categories but said Mr. Romney would be better for upper-income Americans and were split on how the presidential race would affect investors.

“Any other explanation makes no sense.”

I would love to believe every single poll is skewed but seriously folks, is it time to think that maybe, as an example, 53% of the middle class just might believe they ARE better off with Obama? Obama has been campaigning for four years, pitting the middle class against Mitt Romney, could it have worked?

Hard to believe that anyone who works for a living, pays their own way in life, pays taxes and is likely trying to raise a family and buy a home would favor Obama.

But I know they are out there.
Especially the hard core union people.

I read aoll somewhere here on FR not even a week ago that said the opposite, it showed Romney having a big lead with middle-class voters. What’s up?

It's pure propaganda. The "polling data" can't be checked, the methodology can't be checked, the numbers can't be checked. Remember Stalin's words: "the voters determine nothing, the vote counters determine everything". Thes polls are just a way for privately-owned organizations to run their own "election" and "count the votes" to create the outcome they're being paid to create.

They are propagandists, and they are trying to create a completely false reality. By election day, there will be almost no other news broadcast; only polls showing Obama way ahead. The MSM will give itself over 100% for Obama's election victory.

Those who want Obama to lose will have to be strong. We will have to swim against the tide every step of the way.

This time it'll be against words and images from the MSM. In a few years, it'll be against much more tangible threats.

Thanks for pointing that out Brad. For those that missed it:

“...adults 18 years or older” rather than registered voters or likely voters.

You make a good point. It is true that Gallup found in 2008 that single WHITE women (single, divorced, separated or widowed) voted OVERWHELMINGLY for Obama.

Obama now has a 12 point gender gap and much of this is due to how single white women plan to vote for. They also make for a significant part of the middle class: Unemployed, ugly-looking single women, plaintiffs in sexual harassment suits, union types (NEA, SEIU etc), GLTB, NARAL etc.

What is it with single WHITE women?

You mean that $300 million that Obama spent so far defaming Mitt Romney and the billions in free media help the Democrats got actually convinced some people?

Don’t forget the taxpayer-funded campaign hops all around the country!

This has got to be a push poll. Any other explanation makes no sense.

Yeah that and/or another over sampled D+forever poll and under sampled Indies. And/or Axelrod threatening Gallup and Holder's DOJ threatening lawsuits against Gallup, which has occurred.

Is this induced insanity or phoney polls? I have always said that polls are used to sway public opinion. The sheeple need to feel they are going with the popular opinion. They talk individuality but walk conformity.

How long into obuma’s second term before they try taking the guns away? And am still wondering about those hollow points the government is buying up.

Polls are a means to an end...

and...

the democrats know it, and believe it, and use it...

and the media is a tool which they use effective to get people believing them...

They believe that, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.”

The American people are being duped, by the media and the democrats, and most of those people don’t even know it, and how it’s being done.

We’re doomed. The masses have been duped. Unfortunately this is the feeling by most in my neighborhood too. Most are just too uninformed in my blue state.

Sheer insanity. On the other hand, a candidate like Romney certainly plays into an old Republican caracature of an aloof, super-rich Wall Street dude who closes down factories and has zero relate-ability to anyone not on a social register... something which just doesn’t sell easily to blue-collar Reagan Democrats, to put it mildly. Especially when the economy is so crappy. So even if the poll is undoubtedly skewed like most, I wouldn’t be terribly surprised.
