Quite frankly, if the GOP loses, republicans and conservatives will not exist as they are.

The model would be more like a European style conservative than a conservative like we know now in the US.

Obama will have so destroyed the system of Constitutional government that it will be almost impossible to ever turn back, at least not for many, many years.

So we lose this time, it is over, and the leftards know it.

Even IF Romney wins, this country is in for a world of hurt. With so much misery coming down the pike, the Rat spin machine will be in gear to attack, attack, attack.

Whether you believe me or some Hollywood contrived scenario, I don't care. I have little skin in this game anymore. I'm old, not in great shape and gonna die soon. You on the other hand are young and gonna have to deal with this mess as will your children. To think that the enemies of this nation are going to evaporate is at best foolish.

Let me reply to you on a more-serious MUCH less-fun note :(

McCain was a disadvantage in 2008 and while he had some luck late summer with polls going up; after the Bush TARP banking crisis speech he was toast. No amount of spin here or on Rush (who predicted in October 2008 that McCain would win in a landslide, as did Hannity) could change that. I posted that he would lose and I had little doubt.

There is much uncertainty about who will actually vote this year much more than 2008, but I am very skeptical of Republicans who are really dying for Obama to lose, claiming that Romney is really winning big and all the polls are manufactured. This happens every election.

I call it looking out at the world in sunglasses that only show you what you want to see. You ever read Steven Kings : “Needful Things” ??

I think Romney can still win, but he is doing poorly. Much more than he should be. This is my honest opinion.

I have to refine that a bit. He has to provide us with a obvious choice AND convince enough voters of those contrary positions such that he can get them done, and get re-elected.

Even if MR could slip by a margin and get nothing done and lose the congress in two years and the WH in four it would be pointless. In four years we would get the same old tripe about the Khmer Rouge killing us all if the Dem wins just as they are about to win. Lets say that's Hillary-O 'Malley in charge of the Killing Fields, Death Panels, whatever.

No they are not. Romney is the latest in a string of media dupe candidates that GOP-E pick because they don't get out of the Beltway. Basically the media loves the Romneys, McCains, and Doles of the GOP right up until the moment they accept the GOP nomination and then they become Adolf Hitler. There is a dynamic with Romney vs Obama that I never saw in the McCain vs Obama campaign season 2008.

More people are seeing the reality of what Obama is. In 2008, nobody gave a S what he was. He was considered to be Black, and that’s all they needed to know. Yes, I know, but it’s true.

Obama’s not getting a free ride this year. The Left and the DNCp are tossing the image out there, that he is unbeatable, but I don’t believe it for a second.

If you’ve been out of work long enough to have exhausted your unemployment, you’re going to look long and hard at this guy.

If the polls are true, there is a disconnect that is one of the biggest disconnects in human history. People would have to be voting against their own self-interest to back this guy. I’m just not convinced that’s going to happen.

Look, I could be wrong, but I still predict a Reagan level whomping of Obama. I think it’s going to be at least a 55/45 victory for Romney/Ryan, and I’ve been saying so for the last month to six weeks.

If I’m wrong, I’ll take my lumps, but that’s my take on it and it remains unchanged.

This is why I trash the polls. They just sound idiotic to me. It’s like watching a movie with the wife, and I rattle off the whole plot to follow, after only seeing five minutes of the movie. You don’t have anything to point to, but your gut tells you what is more than likely to take place in the way of a plot.

Years ago my wife went to go see Thelma and Louise with a friend. She couldn’t figure out why I didn’t want to go see it. After she came home I told her exactly what I thought the plot was.

I hit all major plot points for the movie including a sexual attack, shooting the perp, and their demise at the end. It as a cinch it was formulaic, and that forumla would be shallow and geared to touch on women’s hot button issues.

That’s what I see the media doing this year. It’s a grade D movie, and it can’t end any other way than with Romney walking all over Obama on election day.

We’ll see.

True that Obama cannot hide behind the fantasy mirror anymore, except we have no one to take advantage of it. Every day I hear or read at least 10 things Obam is doing that pisses me off and I think “I wish we had an EFFECTIVE opposition party to call him out on it”. But we don't. (Gilb is always pointing out examples)

Instead of going after Obama, R² is wasting all their time defending themselves in MSM interviews. Its pathetic. Its a huge waste.

I can easily predict that there will no landslide for R². They might win, maybe,(not betting) but there is no enthusiasm for him Not a bit. Even his RINO allies are complaining about him publicly. that lit candle is floating on a pool of gasoline. Boom!
