A new poll released late Tuesday shows President Obama with a slim advantage over Mitt Romney in the critical battleground state of Florida, suggesting that the state is not slipping away from the GOP nominee, as another survey last week suggested.

Obama leads Romney in the poll, conducted by the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston for Miami-based WSVN-TV, 48 percent to 45 percent. Three percent of likely voters chose one of the 10 other candidates on the ballot, each of whom was offered to respondents as an option. Four percent were undecided. Obama's lead is within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Florida is a must-win state, one that Obama nearly lost in 2008.

What the poll won’t mention.

Aug Totals Compared to 2008 (Official Florida Div of Election Site).

Party Affiliation:
Republicans Lost 45,519
Dems Lost 248,407

As a side note: Polls show Romney up by 12% with Indies. In Florida that translates to over 700,000 vote advantage. McCain lost by 200,000 and was a lousy candidate. So we are suppose to believe that with the dems losing 250,000 voters and less enthusiasm they will still win?

The party ID was D +5 (Dem 42, Rep 37, Ind 21). This compares to 2008 of D +3 (Dem 37, Rep 34, Ind 29) and 2004 of R +4 (Dem 37, Rep 41, Ind 23

Romney is winning among Independents. Undersampling Indy’s also keeps Romney’s total artificially low.

“Gee.....seems lots of polls are TIGHTENING up now....how predictable is that!”

Wait till after the debate. Buckwheat will be up 12 points, and that will mortify conservatives even more This is all psy-op propaganda designed to depress the opposition.

Does this refer to Florida only votes or does it include Florida and New York votes?

why hire one of the least accurate pollsters unless that is the product you demand.

Suffolk is the bottom of the barrel in polling .

But then again Edward;s pollster under oath admitted all these polls were PURE Garbage and every campaign knows these facts and so do the polls firms cooking this crap.

Florida is a must-win as is OH, VA, IA, CO, and NM. The path to Republican victory is becoming ever more steep. Demographics is destiny. Obama has crafted a policy of catering to every imaginable “interest group” and this appears to be a winning formula for the Rats. Sad but true. Romney has to thread the needle. He misses one key state and by 10:00 p.m. election night we may have to endure the nightmarish words of Wolf Blitzer: “CNN can now call FL and OH for Obama and Obama has been re-elected to a second term” God Forbid.

"Florida is a must-win as is OH, VA, IA, CO, and NM. The path to Republican victory is becoming ever more steep."

If the Real Clear Politics electoral map is correct, then Romney needs every single swing state electoral point available, and obongo is only one electoral point from the 270 points needed. It will be a tough fight.

So let me get this straight - this poll outpolled democrats by 5% AT 42%, IN A STATE WHERE THEY HAVE NOT GONE OVER 37%? Thats yet another BS poll.
