America's Warriors Being Denied The Right To Vote

Election 2012: Indifference of the administration and the Defense Department will cause a record low military vote this year, particularly in swing states. Those who protect our right to vote deserve better.

A new report by the Military Voter Protection Project found that absentee ballot requests by the military have dropped significantly since 2008 and are on track to make 2012 a record low for the military vote. As of Sept. 22, requests were down 46% in Florida, 70% in Virginia and 70% in Ohio.

"These are (the) lowest numbers we've seen in the last decade," Eric Eversole, founder and executive director of the project, told U.S. News & World Report's Washington Whispers. "There are a number of factors that go into this, but if the Pentagon was doing what it was supposed to be, this would be a nonissue."

The Pentagon is not doing its job, and the Obama administration doesn't seem to care.

Under the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (MOVE), which was signed into law in 2009 by President Obama, the Federal Voter Assistance Program (FVAP) is supposed to assist service members with voting on military installations.

A Defense Department Inspector General report released in August found that FVAP hadn't set up those voter assistance offices, using budget cuts as an excuse.

The MOVE act is only a law. This administration has shown repeatedly that they don’t have to follow those. 1987 INA, the WARN act, and MOVE are the latest in a series of laws openly broken by Obama in just the last few months.

Would it not be funny if the requests are down because the Obama supporters in the military are no longer bothering.

Romney should confront Obama about this and make him pledge that he will see to it that any service Member that whats to vote gets a ballot and that ballot needs to be counted!

From the article:

“At least 30 Wisconsin municipalities failed to send absentee ballots to military voters before the 45-day deadline.”

And my question. Do military folks have to wait and have ballot sent to them; or can they request one?

It’s too late...

This was calculated from the start to fail our servicemembers...

A few, not enough, will get a ballot, and get it in on time, but not in the numbers we’ll need to remove the tumor from the WH...

So...

I would suggest we all dedicate ourselves to duplicating ourselves at the polls next month...Make sure it is not necessarily a family member, try to get a co-worker, friend or neighbor to go with you to the polls on election day...

We have time to get those folks fired up about this and be effective...

Just my opinion...
