On Thursdays Hardball, MSNBC host Chris Matthews and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown performed a postmortem on Wednesday nights presidential debate which most political observers agreed President Barack Obama lost. Matthews was confused how, objectively, a man with such scope, relevance, and an I.Q. in the hundred and whatever range lost the debate. Brown said that he thought Obama was concerned that if he took on Mitt Romney, the public may have perceived him as taking advantage of a lesser.
Matthews asked Brown if there was hope for the president to not cede too much ground to Romney because, in his estimation, Obama had a stronger command of the facts even though he lost on style.
Its very, very difficult to get people in the world observing politicians ever come to the substance, said Brown. They always go for style. They are always influenced by performances. And I believe that Mr. Obama took a licking last night. The public knows that. And now to suggest that the facts support what his position was supposed to be, I dont think carries.
Matthews agreed and said, objectively, that President Obama should not have lost the debate because he has such a command of style as well as substance. Matthews also noted that Obama has an I.Q. in in the hundred and whatever range.
I do look up to him in so many ways. And when Im with him, I do say to myself and I do this really objectively, I think I listen to him after hes briefed on something and I think, this guy ought to be president. He has the command of the issues. He has scope. He has relevance. He can talk to you as a regular person in common English, as well as the wonk talk. Hes got an I.Q. that must be in the hundred and whatever range way up there. And yet last night he was tongue-tied. He let the other guy own the room.
What do you think was on his mind, Matthews asked Brown.
Brown said that Obama was too conscious of being perceived as arrogant and, if he had taken Romney to task, the president may have been perceive as taking advantage of a lesser.
Watch the clip below via MSNBC:
Aw c’mon Willie! LOL Even that’s too contrived for you.... LOL
“...Maybe some time off and a few long walks.”
Preferably off a few short piers.
How long can you watch Der Fuhrer push around non-existent armies on a map before you say the hell with it? I don't see MSDNC lasting through next year if this keeps up.
Later on Thursday, Matthews at least appeared to concede to the network people (Charlie Rose, I think) that Obama had not performed, had not delivered (Willie Brown's contention), so at least he listened to Brown.
Of course, he couldn't resist the urge to tingle out a long ramble about what Obama should have said -- "if I were Obama", etc. Chrissie still tingles for Barky.
Obama is average. He has gotten where he is because he used his blackness. Along the way he has had many people covering for him. The media helped make him president. When he is left to his own devices, no pre-written speeches and no media to cover for him, it is obvious that he is on the lower scale of average.

I recall in the 2008 debates when Hillary brought up his connection with Rezco (sp?) and the illegal dealings between him and Obama. The press absolutely ignored that opening and then AFTER Obama was POTUS the news came out and Rezco is now in prison. ...Where this usurper should be.
There are some people who simply want their beliefs re-inforced. And if they hear something to the contrary, they want to plug their ears. That's why an MSDNC or a Current TV can survive.
Well Chrissy, it’s easy to look up to someone with an “IQ in the hundred and whatever range” (my guess: 101) when yours is in the 80 and whatever range.
