WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent last month, dropping below 8 percent for the first time in nearly four years. The rate fell because more people found work, a trend that could impact the presidential election.

Magically the number falls to 7.8 and when Obama took office the number was 7.9.
Rush called this months ago. The number of “government” workers started going up the last few months.

Forecasts said we would gain about as many jobs as the report found and STAY at the same unemployment rate.
Well, guess what....the job gains were almost spot-on yet somehow we have a huge drop in the rate?
This is a LIE or it s simply caused by people stopping looking for jobs.
Yes, this is very suspicious. Remember what happened in 08 the moment McCain and Palin went ahead in the polls? Does anyone think that (the financial crisis) was a coincidence?

What a surprise! The number of jobs created this month was 30,000 less than last month...but they magically knocked off .4% from that percentage of unemployed right before the election, so it was way under the dreaded 8%.
I guess that 50% of college graduates who can’t find jobs should go to the Labor Dept. They’ve found half a million jobs there in the last month.

Exactly. 28,000 fewer jobs created yet the unemployment rate goes down 3 tens of a percent? 114,000 nonfarm jobs in Sept.(104,000 private sector) vs. 142,000 in August.

They went through previous months’ data and revised each month to find 500K more jobs.
I’ve followed jobs reports for years. I’ve never seen this happen before.

I hope that Mitt Romney will be able to bring this truth to the American people in the next debate...in the same fashion he used his sons as a example the other night when calling out Obama on a mis truth.
Recall the debate. Romney told Ø “You’re entitled to your own house, to your own plane, but not to your own facts.” Obama is trying to invent his own facts. Romney needs to educate dumb voters about this and can tie it into memories of the debate.

I follow these things pretty closely as well and have never seen these kind of revisions. And never so blatantly timed to coincide with an election.

No surprise here for sure.Romney needs to pound the combined rate...can’t recall what it’s called...the rate of the unemployed who are looking *plus* the unemployed who’ve become too discouraged to look and,therefore,are not counted as unemployed.
I only briefly caught a glimpse of the crew on CNBC before leaving the office,but it appeared the anchors were not only expressing surprise, but outright skepticism.
Looks like the internals have been cooked, from what I am hearing.
I wonder what the number would have been if the Muslim in Chief didn’t stop the Military layoffs.

The funny part will be the talking heads who all claim 7.8% is absolutely wonderful and yet Bush at 5.2% was a dolt who couldn’t do anything right.
So it has been 8.3 for years and all of a sudden it drops to 7.8?? This is electioneering, this is freaking criminal..
