Not to put too fine a point on it, but Obama’s version of Christianity — black liberation theology — is a Marxist re-misinterpretation of Jesus that not only humanizes him but turns him into an entirely political animal, a concept useful only for telling mobs which enemy de jeur into whom to stick their pitch forks.

“Mormonism is a cult,” said Jeremy Roberts, pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church. “Mormons are polytheistic universalists who deny that Jesus is the eternal son of God.”

Actually mormons deny that the LORD Jesus Christ is God...

Here is what my pastor said on this topic:

“I’ve been asked a lot whether an evangelical Christian should vote for a presidential candidate who is a Mormon. Here is my response:

You’re not voting for a pastor or an elder, or a church, you’re voting for a President. If you vote for
Mitt Romney you vote to support someone who will protect the unborn, support marriage (as defined as one woman married to one man), is committed to family, believes in freedom of religion and a strong defense of your country. You are not being asked to vote for Mormonism. If you vote for a Jewish candidate you’re not voting for Judaism.

It’s significant that the current President has said he is an evangelical. Yet, most evangelical Christians find the moral agenda of the current administration conflicts with their cherished Christian values.

The current administration’s disregard for the rights of religious groups to practice their faith in regard to birth control and abortion is alarming. Many see it as a first step to the government legislating what the church may or may not do.

I think of it this way: if I needed heart surgery and was able to choose between a Christian doctor who had lost a lot of patients or a Mormon cardiologist who was successful, —I would choose the successful cardiologist.

I also hear that there are some who have decided not to vote because they don’t like either candidate. We must understand that we will never agree completely with any candidate (unless we were voting for ourselves! LOL). Yet we make a decision based upon which candidate fills most of the values we hold.

You must understand that to choose not to vote IS a choice and is irresponsible in a country where tens of thousands of brave men and women have died to give us and maintain for us, this privilege.

To use eschatology as a reason not to vote is also irresponsible. Yes, we know that the Lord is coming, but we are to pray for open doors to share the Gospel before Jesus returns. An educated vote may keep the doors open for four more years and keep them open for many years to come. The Scriptures also teach us that we should support the nation of Israel and receive God’s blessing. We must prayerfully consider which of the candidates set before us has made a very clear commitment to stand with Israel as she faces the possibility of another holocaust.

I’d also encourage everyone to go to the Center for Arizona Policy and get information of the candidates and ballot propositions: http://azvoterguide.com/

I encourage everyone to become fully informed and seek the Lord’s guidance and wisdom and vote their conscience.”

I'm not Evangelical, but I'm voting for a CEO and executive director, not Priest. Who would be a better caretaker of the the government the next four years? Who would hire better executive directors?

Moral factors do factor in, but it's more how you live your life and not what your religious beliefs are (although I don't trust Muslims). Who is more trustworthy, or in this case, less untrustworthy?

Personally, I have no problem with Mormons. I don't agree with their religion, but knew a bunch of them in law school and all of them were good people who took care of their families.

His track record (which most ignore) manifestly indicates that Romney is not a social conservative. Regardless of who wins, social conservatives lose. That is the sad state in which we find ourselves today.

a canard pushed by some on this very forum that folks like me...Southern baptist...won't vote for Obama cause he is a Mormon

let me tell all you goofballs here

it ain't happening

that is absolutely the most preposterous claim pushed by the “there can be only one church” bunch here ever

I do not know one Southern Prod out of 100s i know who is taking a stance like that in Mississippi or Tennessee

folks want Obama gone...because they oppose almost every single action he has taken since he took office..and if a Mormon can do that for now so be it

besides...frankly the job Southern baptists have done as POTUS is not much to my liking either...nor Catholics...Carter..Clinton..Kennedy

I'd be just as happy with a conservative Jew or even conservative Rosicrucian or Baha'i...if there are such things

Cult-Schmult I could care less. Every Mormon I ever met was clean cut and pleasant. I’ll take Mormons over Marxists any day.

Contrast Obama ex?-druggie, choom gang, pot head, nicotein fiend and coke snorter in his yoof so they say.
Compare to Mitt your standard issue Mormon who is forbidden alcohol, tobacco, caffeine. Mitt looks like he takes none of those. His favorite snack is peanut butter& jelly and a glass of milk.

Anyone who doesn't vote for the most likely candidate to remove Obama is simply and severely retarded, and a traitor to the USA.

It's just that simple.

I am a Lutheran pastor, and I pretty much agree with the pastors quoted in the article.

I reject Mormonism as an anti-Christian heresy, a false religion, a made-up religion. It gets Christ and the Holy Trinity wrong, and therefore it is not Christian.

At the same time, I am ready to vote for Romney. There is nothing in his religion that would keep him from carrying out the duties of the office of President. He seems competent at what he does, and he would certainly govern far more conservatively than Obama.

Also, if there is anybody who would be in favor of religious liberty in this country, it would be a Mormon. And religious liberty is under attack by the Obama administration.

I always thought it was strange that when God helped create the United States He kept Mormonism a secret until a hundred years later, and decided to tell Joe Smith.

And then He said, ‘Oh by the way, you can gave lots of wives now, but don’t let black people advance in My church until I change my mind in another hundred years.’

LOL I guess He really does work in mysterious ways.
