Mort Zuckerman: Why the Country Is Unhappy Under Obama
U.S.News & World Report ^ | October 5, 2012 | MORTIMER B. ZUCKERMAN

Posted on 10/07/2012 10:35:57 PM PDT by neverdem

In the debate Mitt Romney suddenly assumed the stature of a president while American hasn't found its way under Obama's failing leadership

When you accumulate some of the adjectives from the pundits, the media, and other appraisals that were not from the right but from baffled sympathizers and centrists, there is no doubt that President Barack Obama clearly lost the debate this week, as a matter of both substance and tone. Take your pick from the river of insults: listless, meandering, lazy, dull-brained, long-winded, languid, and flaccid were just some of the epithets from the pundits. Even the New York Times opined that "He lost his competitive edge." The worst that Mitt Romney's relatively few critics could come up with was that his tax cut was unaffordable.

All Obama could do was repeat the charge, and Romney was able to make the pledge that he would not reduce revenues through his tax cut because they would be offset by the elimination of special write-offs and loopholes. What was remarkable was that Romney, who has been in everyone's dog house for months with an erratic campaign, has suddenly assumed the stature of a president. He was warm, articulate, logical, informed, forceful, and most important, presidential. He was more engaged, more detailed, more decisive, more animated, more aggressive in attack, and more robust in defense than the president, who was lackadaisical and without mastery of the facts or the ability to respond to what was put forth by his challenger.

But what is at issue isn't debating style, questions of posture and demeanor, "gotcha moments," or "You're no Jack Kennedy" zingers. The fundamental issue for America is that we seem to have lost our way and we haven't found it after four years of the Obama administration, thanks to a leadership...

After crying over not getting their backing of Hillary elected, these past four years were unsuccessful in forcing The Undocumented Coffee Server to conform to her agenda.

So:
They’ve had their champion installed in the hyjacked GOP, HillaryRomney, intending to support Mr. HillaryRomney Extortion-Care, all along.

Alot of people have totally jumped the shark here, supporting Mr. Massachusetts Hillary.

Did not Mort support and vote FOR Obama 4 years ago?

Yes, he did, along with 69 million others.

Some of them are going to have to change their minds - several millions of them, in fact.

Let's not make it hard.

Truth, loyalty, and honesty backed up by an unfailing command of the facts coupled with the ability to impart them will beat “mastery of lies and deception” any time.

That is why Obama looks like a petulant two-year old when confronted thusly.

One of Mort Zuckerman's claims to fame is that he was one of Bernie Madoff's victims. I think a lot of people tend to mistakenly assume that wealthy people are, by definition, smart people.

He'll never admit it in public, but I'm sure Zuckerman knows damn well that the turd swirling around in his toilet this morning is more presidential than the guy he supported in 2008.

Probably. But it looks like he’s preparing to endorse Romny this time around.

"Mort is an honest liberal......"

There's no such thing as an honest liberal.

He's lying now. He's still a liberal. He's just trying to cover for his stupidity 4 years ago.

Why should I believe anything this media metrosexual says today when he was so wrong last time? Fool the public once......

Now it appears that he may be throwing Obama under the bus and will embrace Romney. This makes him a conservative? This makes him as "honest" as George Washington? This makes him warm and cuddly?

No, he's still a Beltway media opportunist and a conniver, abeit making his move a day late and a dollar short. A lot of these rich guys are beginning to worry big time about their personal fortunes and their business's bottom lines. Founding principles have nothing to do with their Road to Damascus transformations.

Go away, flip-flopper Mort......once a Schmuckerman, always a Schmuckerman.

He’s been anti Obama for some time no. Too bad he had stars in his eyes back in 2008.

I have already noted my own shortcomings, as in a refresher course in forgiveness. The whole tenor of this article for my common way of processing information ignores the literal damage done to this nation by not just voters, but big time supporters of all things Obama. I do not expect to live long enough to see the damage and destruction peeled away since liberals took charge in 2006. I consider 2006 the year that Nannie the Red Pewlouise became the Speaker of the peoples House a warning to what to expect with unchecked liberal loons acting out their fantasies.

“I do not believe that Mort now sees the light.”

Maybe so. Maybe Mort is just embarrassed about the way the progressive (liberal) agenda has worked out under Obama. When the USSR broke up in 1991, far-leftist editorial writers moaned about what a mess the idiotic Bolsheviks had made out of Marxism. Likewise Mort is just explaining away the mess we have now as just being an artifact of Obama’s incompetence.
