Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan walked out of an interview with Detroit's ABC News affiliate after the local news anchor attempted to "stuff words" in his mouth. Ryan was answering a series of questions about violence, guns and gun control laws.
Ryan, addressing gun violence, said the best thing to do is to "help teach people good discipline [and good character. Local anchor Terry Camp asked Ryan if he could do all of that "by cutting taxes" which caused him to get up and end the interview.

It’s very clear that somebody off screen stopped the interview, but I bet this will be on the news as “Ryan tucks tail and runs” on CNN etc.
Don't take the liberal's bait. Race Bait or any other kind.Don't engage them on the "facts" or issues they bring up until you vet them. Who are they? What is their credibility? Who pays them and who has paid them? Unless they can prove that they are not inveterate liars, paid operatives and aren't nuttier than squirrel poop based on their past history there is no reason to discuss anything they bring up. The press is the enemy and should be treated accordingly.

If his reaction were emotional, it is troubling. One approach used to manipulate is to ask these types of questions to get this type of reaction. There are responses that could be used to turn this into an opportunity to express core beliefs and the importance of individual responsibility, which would be far better than walking out. Before the debate, I hope he learns to recognize when he is being baited and how to turn it into an opportunity.

You are correct. The producer ended the interview. Ryan was not falling for any of their "gotcha" questions, they weren't getting the kind of footage they wanted, so they bailed.

I think it was probably somebody from Romney’s campaign (and for good reason) who stopped the interview. Many taped interviews (60 minutes, dateline, etc.) get cut off by either a lawyer or spokesperson off camera that has better hindsight where the conversation needs to stop if they are trying to bait the perspon.
The interview was already over when Ryan made his comment.
Ryan did NOT end it early.

He never said that. He said that once it was made legal it can’t be made unlegal by another executive order because those previously closeted gays have outed themselves. I am convinced that gays in the military will be bad for our military.
But some bells can’t be un-rung. To reverse the current policy there will need to be overwhelming evidence that it was wrong to adopt the current policy. At the risk of not understanding your position, I would say that I agree with you that the evidence may come by a military defeat that gets many people killed. The policy should have not been changed.
Ryan’s point is that we are kind of stuck with the change until we have evidence to convince most people. Sometimes democracy weakens a country’s defense for a time.

It isn’t the government’s business to teach you values of any kind, that was your parent’s job and if they failed to do that and it caused you to go out and commit violent crimes, it’s the governmet’s job to punish you for your parent’s failure provided a CCW holder doesn’t correct you first.
