The Obama Levee Breaks
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 10/08/2012 | IBD Staff

Election 2012: President Obama might think sagging polls are his biggest post-debate problem. But it's really people like Buzz Bissinger, Stacey Dash and Bill Maher showing it's now acceptable in polite society to attack The One.

In an eye-opening piece Monday on the Daily Beast, "Friday Night Lights" author and lifelong Democrat Buzz Bissinger announced he was voting for Romney.

The tipping point, he wrote, "was last week's debate in Denver," which showed Obama out of energy and out of ideas.

Yep, I’ve only seen 3 Obama signs in our small town in North-central Illinois (pop. 9,500). People who I know are democrats, and would proudly display their signs at presidential elections, are curiously absent of them this year. They’ve discovered just how much “cool” costs...

Being “cool” made you a “fool”...I think these types will either stay home or vote stupid again.

Everyone really needs to understand what “cool” actually means.

It means being in just the “proper” state of rebellion to norms, traditions, parents, and God.

“Proper” is in accordance with the world’s standards, and of course, gets further and further from the Ultimate Standard with each generation of “cool”.

So, if your kids talk about a “cool kid”, or “wanting to be cool”, make sure to explain it to them.

Saying “that’s cool” is saying “I approve of that”. Make sure they understand by what standard they are expressing their approval.

DOn’t know who is distributing it, but it seems to be in the same yards as the “Fire Lugar” yards. Lots of Mike Pence and Romney/Ryan signs.....OTOH it was the college towns that threw IN to BO last election. Out of state students voted en masse

The advice I like that is similar goes like this:

“You voted for Obama in ‘08 to prove you weren’t a racist.

Now vote for Romney in ‘12 to prove you aren’t an idiot.”

So true.

For many of those voters, hearing criticism from the pop culture like Maher, will be enough to give them “permission” to vote for Romney or not to vote at all.

He never had any ideas, except good old fashioned communism.

Can anyone remember the last time Bill Maher was polite?

Well, the Catholic Church does preach late vocations .... St. Augustine the reformed Roman playboy being their poster-boy, who made the trip from lupanaria to the Civitas Dei.

Most are foregoing the Romney yard sign due to Obama’s 2008 admonition to his supporters to “get in their faces”. They do not want to waste time arguing with idiots on their front porch. Nor do they want their cars and property to suffer the sort of vandalism that my former Teamster neighbor used to brag about across many a bar.

Media capitulation is a possibility.

No. These news orgs are welded to this guy now. The B-school types may try a counterrevolution, but they'll have to take out their entire news organizations and top-management superstructures to make it stick.

The political newsies live for partisanship -- it's why they went into journalism in the first place -- and we will find them next month fighting in the last ditch.

Well, there aren’t that many Obama signs as before as well, at least where I live.

There is one 0 bummer sign in my neighborhood and I've seen two 0 bumper stickers. In 2008, they were everywhere. Lots of R/R signs and bumper stickers.

Wow! Bill Maher, last Friday: "I’m sorry, he sucked. He looked tired. He had trouble getting his answers out. He looked like he took my million and spent it all on weed."

Not seeing much “in yo face, mofo” like in 08 and damn sure in 09. Da Bros n Sistas be too busy jivin on da obamaphones to give a hoot about voting. When people (holder’s people) have low aspirations it doesn’t take much to feel satisfied.

These punks need a spanky. Time for Republican SoS's and DA's to go looking for students who voted absentee at home and in person in their campus's county.

We have in Texas a situation where smallish Waller County has a white population that is dominated at the polls and and governed adverse to their interest by bloc-voting black students, whipped up by racist faculty, at "traditionally black" Prairie View A&M University. And yes, the "community organizer" types on factulty are telling the students to vote twice.

In the words of the classic Led Zeppelin song -

“If it keeps on raining, the levee’s gonna break”....

That was a cover by LZ. They didn't write that song, they reinterpreted it. It was originally written over 40 years prior to their recording.
