First lady Michelle Obama says that she had no idea of the breadth of sacrifices made by members of the military and their families before entering the White House.

"My connection to military life was pretty tangential," she said in an interview with ABC News set to air Tuesday. "Most Americans like me, they just don't have a clear idea of the sacrifice these men and women and their families make."

I beg to differ, Michelle. Patriotic Americans have a perfectly "clear idea of the sacrifice" involved because they serve, their parents served, their siblings serve, and their children serve. It is not an abstract concept to our fine young men and women in uniform and their families, who also serve as they sit and wait. And because of their sacrifice, ingrates like you have the freedom to open your ignorant yap and go where you please in safety and comfort. And I have the freedom to call you on it.
