CNN Ohio poll: Obama 51, Romney 47
Politico ^ | 10/9/2012 | ALEXANDER BURNS

Even after the fallout from last week's presidential debate, Barack Obama retains a 4-point lead in the state of Ohio — and pulls a majority of the vote in a poll released this afternoon by CNN.

Obama leads Romney in the state, 51 percent to 47 percent. The president has consistently led in the battleground state in credible public polling and internal surveys on both sides of the 2012 race.

The results from the CNN poll underscore the continuing challenge the Electoral College poses to Romney: while he has gained in national presidential polls, Romney has only the narrowest of paths to winning 270 electoral votes if he cannot improve his standing in Ohio. The CNN survey is the first widely trusted poll to emerge from the Buckeye State since the debate last week.

Anyone just see the Suffolk pollster on O’Reilly? He said they won’t be doing anymore polling in Florida, Virginia or North Carolina because they’re going to Romney. Hat tip News Ninja:

The president of Suffolk University Political Research Center tonight told Bill O’Reilly on The Factor that the company will not be taking any further polls in Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. David Paleologos, Suffolk University Political Research Center Director, told Bill these states are clearly going to Romney.

“In places like North Carolina, Virginia and Florida, we’ve already painted those red. We’re not polling any of those states again. We’re focusing on the remaining states.”

Wow, if that is true then Romney CAN win without Ohio.

He’ll need to pickup some other States that McCain lost but it will be much easier with those three in his pocket.

Strange.
Last week they had Obama up by 3 in Fla and the week before up by 2 in Va.

Yup.
3 other polls have Romney up or within 1.
Ras, ARG, WeAskAmerica.
Gravis poll had Romney up as well.
ARG had a Romney lead with a sample that was D +9!

One consistent factor in the other polls was the large Romney lead among independents. Here Obama leads, its as if some of the Dems were identified as indies.

The pattern is that they have to throw in this bogus poll so there is no “ROMNEY LEADS” meme. That would be death for Obama and the media both.

Just imagine if Obama’s supporters found out that there is no reason to vote for the worst President in our lifetimes.

Before, it was frustrating that Romney was losing in a close race, but polls showed him ‘trailing widely’. Now Romney is leading and we will get polls that will still have a skew and show it even. Average out the polls and treat that as the minimum that Romney will get...

For ohio its now a dead-heat pollwise.

Well, good. Democrat voters can now relax, seeing how Obama's got it in the bag. No sense in busting their humps to get out the vote. Not to worry. Someone else will 'build that'.

You should be watching the same channels I am and Romney’s ad presence has picked up considerably...

Just now on Hannity, they said that Romney had started increasing his ad buys.

They also said, and I agree with it, that Romney wiped out the benefit of Obama’s pre-debate ad avalanche.

Will Romney do as well and Obama as poorly in the next debate? Someone on one of the Fox shows said today that the next debate will be town hall format (maybe it was O’Reilly) where they get audience questions like “what’s your favorite color and why?”

I doubt the audience questions will be that bad, but sometimes they’re real puffballs, and sometimes they are clear attempts at “gotcha”. I also believe the audience is a good proportion of plants from the liberal networks.

So, will Obama get away with walking around, smiling, joking, and giving flighty answers? He will if the format doesn’t permit Romney to respond to Obama in any substantive way.

Gov Chris Christie was in Ohio today, campaigning in the Mahoning County, "steel valley" area, a normally drop dead democrat region of the state. He said the crowds were enormous, even outside the behemoth GM (union infested) Lordstown plant.

I think CNN is blowing smoke.

I was stunned, they were not in yards but on the roadside.

Stunned? So that means one person drove along the road while a partner hopped in and out of the car planting signs along the way. No big mystery there.

Those union folks may be being told how to vote, but no one is gonna watch them pull that lever!

I am not a believer in polls of any kind, “science” is missing

Who in the heck thinks CNN is credible? Wolf Blitzer has as much as said that he will ask all the questions that dems want asked, even if Obama does not ask, in the debate he moderates

I was stunned because in 2008, only 20% of the signs were Obamas, in the area where I live.
