Original title: Suffolk pollster: We’re not polling Florida, Virginia, or North Carolina anymore, because Romney’s going to win them
------------------------
Via Gateway Pundit, I’ll give you the RCP averages tonight and leave you to judge. They’ve got Romney by three points in NC (although the latest poll has him up nine), Romney by less than a point in FL, and Obama by less than half a point in VA.

See Guy Benson for more good news in various state polls. Ohio and Pennsylvania are getting tighter.

I had this crazy dream that Biden tried to use the Obama/Clinton black southern drawl at the debate and beat on the podium! It was the moment all knew the election was over!

If Ryan can do this to Obama ,,,Biden is chopped toast.

Ryan cleans Obamas clock

“Isn’t it a little premature to call Florida for anyone?”

Agree. The other two states were never in play, regardless of what the polling says. If NC or VA is lost by Romney, it’s game over anyway, without them - so why bother polling. Both states will be right around 8 point Romney wins by the time the votes are counted.

I worked the phone banks here in Central Virginia last evening and was startled by the turn of events. I had worked them several times earlier in the season but this was the first time since the debates. ID myself as a Vet calling on behalf of Republican Party and ask, “Can Romney and Ryan count on your vote this November?” Much larger number of yes’s and much greater level of enthusiam in their response. Was a pleasant experience compared to earlier times.

I believe it. If they are watching the same absentee and early voting trends we are seeing in OH, they know that Zero has not built enough early lead to win. I personally think this is the first outfit to face reality.

The guy also said that the Romney trends were strong (and I think they are seeing the internal stuff that is leaking out of the others-- Romney up big among indies, middle class, now women, plus higher turnout among Rs).

One mor reason to think this is true: this is a smaller outfit than Gallup, Ras, Mason Dixon, and they have to juggle their resources more closely.

Oh and this: there was a little noticed story last week that one of the Zero PACs had pulled out of VA. Naturally, this got no play in the DriveBys.

I agree. I think OH has been gone for some time.

"He said, iirc, something about Obama being below 50% being why they can say that Romney will win Fla, Va, and NC."

PV dynamics.

Yes. Look at the FR OH absentee voting threads. You’ll see what I mean.

Nonetheless, Obama simply will not give up on Florida. Better to keep hammering away at it, and not risk a clandestine ploy to get a candidate to pull resources or to give back airtime already scheduled with the media. You know who they’d gladly give that to if it were given up by the republicans.

It is about 27 days to the election, and it’s not time to trust outsiders or to let up in any other way.

I’m an Ohioan and Ohio is not settled.

It is always close, and the nature of our numbers says that last minute surges, voter drives, etc., can have a big impact.

We have 8 million registered voters and in 2008, a big turnout year, only 5.5 million voted.

That means last minute stuff can be really significant.

Seems to me that a smart candidate would take this suffolk prediction with a grain of salt.

Or a block of salt. At any rate the obama team isn't writing VA off...I can tell you that. I watched House last night on FOX...the Nats had a night off...and there was an obama commercial every break. Every single one! And every single commercial is an attack on Romney. Every one of them calls him a liar and not one has anything positive about obama. Hope and Change is dead!

I'm an Ohioan too and I think that OH has been a done deal for a month. Pollsters are trying to make it otherwise, but esp. after I see all the yard signs as anecdotal backup to the NUMBERS in the absentees and the trends, it fully confirms the enthusiasm gap in favor of Romney.

Zero will NOT win Hamilton or Franklin counties this time, and he WILL be down massively in Cuyahoga. I think at least 60,000, maybe 70,000 votes.

The old adage: “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.”

Better safe than sorry.

Not saying relax in any sense of the word. But people here freak when the Romney campaign is said to be “pulling ads” out of WI, so turnabout is fair play.

“Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.”

Not true in UT, where they count their Hatch before he chickens out.

I live in Virginia. Hampton Roads area. No doubt in my mind, even with the constant Mcrini effect that brought G. Allen down, that Obama has no shot in this state. It’s quite evident to me.

It's a little premature to "call" any State for any candidate.

Wherever you live, get out and vote as your conscience directs ... and the pollsters be damned.
