OK, guys. There have been countless polls in the last 48 hours (mostly showing Romney momentum), but sometimes I find that stories from the guy next door tell me more and are the most convincing to me. I'd like to hear about friends or even enemies of yours switching away from Obama and to Romney, or perhaps simply towards Conservatism. I sense this is happening in a big way, and that the debate was not Obama merely laying an egg, but the aftermath of the debate is a result of a clash of ideas, where liberal ideas were exposed!
One friend of mine told me that their family was very pro-Obama, especially his 16-year-old son. After the debate, his son turned to him and said, "Dad. I think that now I would vote for Romney, if I could vote." And he got up and left the room.
Fire away! I'd love to hear your "conversion" stories or other "boots on the ground" evidence of change that I feel is in the air.
Let not your heart be troubled. It makes no difference to Mitt or anyone else in the country what you worry about. I am voting for Mitt.

Many people are reluctant to put up signs or stickers on cars b/c of what deranged liberals will do in retaliation.
Astute point and I agree with you on that. Too many Americans see the election of a president as a popularity contest and as a result, we usually end up with a back-slapping, snake-oil salesman who has a way with the ladies (Bill Clinton personifies that stereotype). Yet as an actual leader and an executive, these are often the worst people for the job.
It is rare to see charisma and competency in the same package. Ronald Reagan is the only president I know that was not only a master politician but also had the executive ability to inspire people and actually get substantive things done, even when the opposing party controlled power in Congress during his whole two terms.
I would say Mitt Romney has it even over Reagan with respect to executive ability, surrounding oneself with the right people and getting things done. If we get Romney into office, with a Republican controlled Congress, I think all of us here are going to be very surprised. Pleasantly surprised.
How about this anecdotal evidence here in OH: I have been on a list to get a R/R sign for weeks. They called 3 days ago. By the time I got there yesterday 1000 signs were gone! The lady showed me a legal sign up pad for the next batch . . Ten pp long!
Not only do the R/R signs heavily outnumber Obama signs here, but I see signs in yards that I never saw signs in during the 08 campaign.

I don't trust Romney on the abortion issue, but he claims to be pro-life.
I don't trust Romney on the gay agenda, but he can't be worse than Obama on that and may be less extreme.
I don't trust Romney to pick the best judges, but they wouldn't be as bad as the ones Obama would pick.

If Romney is President, conservatives have leverage because he will want a second term. If Obama is re-elected, he is completely unfettered and we have no leverage.

This is all fantasy! Romney ran as the CEO Governor in Mass. too, and that got them RomneyCare, 700 million in new taxes and fees, and third from the bottom in business growth. Any honest look at his record reveals a shifty operator who says whatever he wants and governs as a leftist, and you want us to believe in this fantasy of CEO-competence when he has never once ever displayed any of it? Nuts!

But why do you agree with it? There’s literally no evidence in his political career that it is true.
Wasn’t talking about his “political” career and that’s just the thing. He was a very successful business executive and was called upon to help turn around the financial crisis of the Salt Lake City Olympics. His four years as governor was almost a side-note. Unlike most politicians, Romney did not spend his entire career in the public sector and brings to the table a wealth of real world experience.

We can all acknowledge that national unemployment figures do not accurately reflect the dire unemployment situation in this country, but there's no getting around the fact that Massachusetts now has an unemployment rate that is considerably lower than the nation as a whole, and a full 1-3 points lower than similar neighbors like Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. Even many Democrats in MA acknowledge that a lot of this can be traced back to Romney's term as governnor.
