If voters are right, Paul Ryan will easily out-debate Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Thursday.

The latest The Washington Times/Zogby Poll, released Monday, found 46 percent of voters think Mr. Ryan, Wisconsin Republican and a master of budget details, will overwhelm Mr. Biden. Only 30 percent thought "Sheriff Joe" would triumph.

"Frankly, I would have expected the other way around," said pollster [and arabist] John Zogby.

Who's surprised that Zogby is surprised? These people live in a self-inflicted bubble.

Gonna have popcorn and beer for Thurs. nite. Should be good!

Biden is a tougher more experienced politician than Obama. After all, he’s been in DC for 40 years.

“Biden is a tougher more experienced politician than Obama. After all, he’s been in DC for 40 years.”

Uh, you could have said the same about McCain and Obama, couldn’t you?

I like Ryan and I think he's about the sharpest knife in the drawer on budget issues, etc.

However, I don't like his ‘delivery’. He's not a smooth speaker, though personally, THAT kind of thing doesn't matter to me as much as substance.

What I am saying is the MSM will of course make more out of Ryan's style than what he has to say.... which is typical for Liberals. Style is everything in the world to them... though the speaker could be dumb as dirt! Just look at THEIR choices for President and Vice President currently and taken altogether over the past decades.

Not only are polls fraudulent, they pick the most inane questions to poll.

“Nobody asked about McCain.”

I think his point was that a more experienced politician is more capable.

Offered up an example that showed this is not always the case.

Why are you so upset then?

That zombie is surprised that a lot more people think Ryan will kick the Gaffe-ometer’s” ash shows how out of touch these people in the media are.

Don’t underestimate Biden as a debater. He is a slippery character who can tell bald faced lies with passion and conviction.

I think Ryan will do fine, and might crush Biden, but beware of slow Joe.

Worst case scenerio is the debate is a draw, in which case Ryan does no harm.

MSM will spin a Biden victory, but people will know what they saw regardless.

Will people even tune in? I hope they do. It’s one thing to know that Ryan will win, it’s another thing to actually watch him make a fool of Biden.

As somebody mentioned on another thread, I think there’s an excellent chance that Biden will know the questions beforehand. As I understand, the questions are selected beforehand from audience submissions. I expect a very scripted responses from Biden, with sharp attacks on Romney. The media will try to spin it that Ole Joe changed the narrative and put the O campaign back on track. To bet a better outcome, Ryan will need to mess with Biden and put the focus on O’s failures.

Paul Ryan will easily out-debate Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.

If you ask me this is all part of their plan. They are trying to lower the expectations for Biden while raising the expectations for Ryan. Now anything even close to a draw will be construed as a major win for the Obama Biden campaign.

Ryan would do well to slow his delivery a wee bit.
Romney got the Gipper’s “sunny disposition” while clobbering his opponent down pat last week. Ryan could learn from this.
