Mother of slain Navy SEAL: Romney shouldn’t politicize her son’s death (OUTRAGEOUS!)
Yahoo News ^ | 10/10/12

After Romney's remarks, Barbara Doherty told Boston's WHDH 7News that the GOP nominee shouldn't invoke her son that way again.

"I don't trust Romney," she said. "He shouldn't make my son's death part of his political agenda. It's wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama."

Romney has amplified his criticisms of Obama's foreign policy and defense record with a speech on Monday that fact-checkers and the Obama campaign said was rife with errors and policy reversals

We all know who is using these young men for politics.

The same guy who considers as mere “collateral damage” innocent Mexicans killed by cartels armed by his regime.

Some kids at school were talking about Obama v Romney, saying that Romney doesn’t want them to be able to live here (they are Hispanic). I mentioned Fast and Furious. One of the girls said that the guns had chips in them. I said they had chips in them when Bush was President, but since Obama’s been in they don’t. She asked why they would take the chips out. I said that was a good question, and that it seems like they wanted Mexicans to be killed so they could say that Americans shouldn’t be able to sell guns any more.

The look on her face was heartbreaking. She very quietly said, “I don’t like him any more.”

I was glad and encouraged by the fact that she understood but sad that she had to find out that there are people like that.

This mom might be too close to everything right now to be able to see as clearly as these middle-school girls had seen. It might hurt too much to deal with the guilt if she let herself think that the support she had given Obama could be responsible for her son’s death. I’ve been there and done that, with the death of our daughter, and don’t wish that part of the grieving process on anybody. She would never have willingly supported somebody who would kill her son. When she realizes that Obama betrayed her badly, she may be able to understand and truly believe that it’s not her fault, and be able to live with the truth.

This former SEAL was on the board of the “Military Religious Freedom Foundation” which claims to be against “proselytizing” in the military by religious groups. I think our servicemen should be free from getting particular religions pushed on them through the chain of command and from religious-based hazing or other clearly improper conduct. However, I think activist groups like this, in practice, are actually hyper-sensitive and often very hostile to even pretty mild expressions of Christianity in the ranks (which is not to say there are not legitimate concerns once in awhile). A la the ACLU. That’s just my own personal observation and opinion, and it does nothing at all to take away from this American’s service and sacrifice. I only point it out because it would perhaps be consistent with a “liberal” mindset that apparently his mother shares.

I thought that the soldier that Romney mentioned, and that he had met his family, was killed in Afghanistan. Did Romney say that he had met Doherty, or his family? Did he mention both,or am I just confused?

Do you realize how many deceased soldier moms are livid with Obama at this point? Yet you never see the media reach out to them and put them on the home page of Yahoo.

This is what the media does. They are corrupt.

She’s an Obama bot, her loyalty is to him..doesn’t she want to know what happened to her son? Her son was brutally murdered, we ALL want to know what happened, this was an obvious cover up yet this woman wants to go around blaming Romney? Absolutely DISGUSTING

Let Yahoo run the story that ABC did, yes ABC, where the soldiers widow was actually touched and proud Romney was using her dead husbands story and even said her husband supported Romney and wanted nothing more than a new President.

I hope she got her form letter from her hero Obama saying he’s sorry her son died but that he died advancing the Obama socialist cause.

That will make her feel better I’m sure.

"He shouldn't make my son's death part of his political agenda. It's wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama."

So her outrage is not for her dead son, but for Obama.

Well, Romney didn’t know Mom was an Obama supporter. Now we can have more Democratic fake outrage.

This woman is the one politicizing this. Romney was just telling a heartwarming story.

Don't allow Obama's incompetence and complicity in the Libyan embassy attack and the murders of U.S. citizens to cloud your mind completely.

Romney told that 'heartwarming story' for a political purpose. He politicized it.

Do you have a problem with that, given who he is running against?

Romney was just telling a heartwarming story.

Get real. Government employees and government politicians of all stripes use anything and say anything as long as it benefits them.

Stop with the pollyanna heartwarming babble.

This woman is a left-wing fanatic. A big time Obummer supporter. I salute her son, but to hell with her trying to help the Kenyan get elected.

If anyone in the world has politized the US Navy Seals it’s her hero Obummer.

Ex-SEAL’s mom: ‘It’s sad’ death politicized

September 25, 2012

The mother of a former Navy SEAL from Winchester killed in Libya said it is “very sad” that her son’s death was being used as political theater yesterday — and she agreed with President Obama’s controversial assessment that the latest round of deadly troubles in the region constitute “bumps in the road.”

Different guys this is Doherty, the guy Mitt met at a neighbor’s Christmas party. The other fellow was killed in Afghanistan after telling his wife all he wanted was a new president.

More like the mother of a murdered son marrying the murderer after the fact.

As a mother with a son who has served in Iraq, Afghanistan and is again in Afghanistan, I am truly outraged at your comment. Your statement about where this bereaved mother’s head may be is beyond belief. I would report this to the Moderator, except I want people to see just how warped extreme beliefs can carry some people. Shame on you!!!

As to who is responsible, I am at this moment listening to the live House hearings on this issue. I would like to know more about the statement that the Republican dominated House has significantly reduced funding for embassy security since 2010. I realize we need to reduce the deficit, but is this the cost?? More research needed.
