MSNBC's 'Now' Doesn't Bother to Mention Congressional Hearing on Benghazi
NewsBusters ^

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform convened for a hearing on Wednesday at 12 p.m. EDT to delve into the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Detailed accounts were heard, revelatory statements were made, but MSNBC's noon time program Now with Alex Wagner was too busy criticizing everything Mitt Romney has said over the last few years to even acknowledge what was transpiring, much less dip in to cover the hearing itself.

Almost 44 minutes into the hour-long program, the subject changed. Something was happening in our nation's capital, but it wasn't what any informed citizen would've expected it to be. Standing on the steps of the Supreme Court was another MSNBC host, Al Sharpton, speaking out on the importance of affirmative action.

CNN Newsroom and America Live on Fox News both fulfilled their obligation to inform the American people of what was going on as it happened. Staying true to form, MSNBC pundits ignored the actual news and editorialized to their hearts' content.

Guess they figure that if they ignore the hearings, then the hearings aren't happening. The NYT buried news of the hearings on page 10.

Obviously they haven’t gotten input from George Lackoff (rhymes with) on how to spin the hearings to make the Republicans look bad. They’ll get some guidance by tomorrow morning, I’m sure.

Whack-off... sorry I meant to say Lackoff may be busy on his fifth drink just at the moment. I know it’s only an hour after quittin’ time out in California, too.

Affirmative action is important to Al. He knows that with black unemployment at 25%, without affirmative actioon it woulod be at 50% or more.

The Government does not hire blacks because they are competent. They hire them because they are required to.

They establish quota’s they have to fill they lower the standards untilthey can fill those quota’s.

am just watching the 6pm NBC news (west coast).

The lead off story is about Romney flip flopping on abortion AND Clinton making fun of him.

Still waiting for the Bengazi cover up story, now 7 mins into the news....

Apparently it wasn’t as important as some CIA paper pusher being exposed.

Pray for America

If you haven't noticed....Entry level Gov’t jobs(re: taxpayer funded Federal State and local) are the new norm for blacks....

I had a permitting “adventure” in a small southern city awhile back....I noticed that at least 60% of the people I saw in the process were black....so just for the fun of it I checked the census...the city was 14% black...but hell..it beats welfare!

If you looked at promotions since Obama has been President, I think you will find that most promotions went to blacks.

It's all about the election. The media is ignoring this to keep it on the back burner.

The congressional investigation is trying to determine if this was a cover up or incompetence. It's obviously both.

In fact the administration is trying to run out the clock until election time so they won't have to explain why they made such a mess.

I know many blacks who are brilliant. Good, wonderful people. Let's keep it aboveboard.

And affirmative action policies do a disservice to their abilities and accomplishments.

The fact of the matter is that affirmative action policies mean, by definition, that less worthy blacks will achieve positions they are not qualified for and accomplished blacks will not get full credit for their achievements.

Affirmative action policies are no less toxic than Jim Crow policies.

I know many of them too, unfortunately they are a minority in the minority. If they weren’t we wouldn’t need Affirmative action. That is as above board as I can get.
