The effects of President Barack Obamas falter in the first debate with Mitt Romney are not just being felt in battleground states, according to KPIX-TV CBS 5′s latest tracking poll of California which shows Romney slicing eight points off Obamas lead.
Obama had led by 22 points in the CBS 5 tracking poll released four weeks ago. Obama now leads by only 14 points, an 8-point improvement for Romney. At the same time, the poll found U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinsteins support for her re-election bid remained largely unchanged, month-on-month, suggesting that the erosion in Democratic support is not across-the-board, but contained to Obama. Unclear is whether the Obama erosion is fleeting or long-lasting.
The poll data released Wednesday showed Obama 53%, Romney 39%, in California. Obama carried the Golden State by 24 points in 2008, so the poll found Obama is now running 10 points weaker than he ran 4 years ago. Among Independents, Obama led by 14 in September, but now trails by 9 in October, a 23-point right turn among the most coveted voters. One explanation, based on the poll data: The number of Romney supporters who said they were voting for Mitt Romney as opposed to against Barack Obama is way up, month over month.

“Only” 14 points...
Well...good sign as far as a trend, and it can help with some close congressional races there to have the top of the ticket with this amount of an improved standing.
That sounds pretty good to me!
$6 gas and they still support Obozo. Wish CA had a “break into three parts” clause like Texas does.
8 points can’t win Kalipornia but it’s going to win some swing states.
That one 90-minute debate exploded a lot of myths about Obama (empty suit) and Romney both. The MSM and Dem narratives were squashed.
Polls become a lot more accurate the closer we get to election day.
In a clearly liberal area, there are 3 Romney signs on my small block. (One is mine but that counts!)
Call me crazy but I’m praying R+R will carry CA.
Allow me to be the first , “ You’re crazy ! “ ; )
California really needs to be broken up into several states.
1988 was the last time the GOP carried CA. Then the sun set in California.
Kalifornia is a socialist country, not a State. /s The progressives are working on the other 49.. Or is that 56?
Not only 'No' but Hell No.
As if the country is going to allow two new Californias to send a total of four liberal Senators to Washington DC. Why shouldn't Texas be allowed to split up into a union of federated Texan states and send an avalanche of brand new US Senators to Capitol Hill?
There's no way to split California vertically or horizontally and come up with some new conservative state to counteract the current liberal debt monster that is modern California.
Cut in half above Santa Barbara, Southern California would just be 'Even Newer Mexico' versus 'Hippiefornia'.
Cut lengthwise, you'd have 'West California' hugely overpopulated with illegal aliens and their benevolent hippie-'Boomer overlords versus 'Eastern California' and the unpopulated desert wasteland state capitol of Barstow.
Now, if you could convince California to give to the state of Nevada the entire Sierra Nevada mountain range, well THEN we're talking.
Sell CA to China - in exchange for their US Treasury holdings.
TaDa! Everyone’s a winner.
I don't think Romney is stupid enough to start wasting money in that place.
Yeah, "sell" it the same way Newsweak was sold.
My fag neighbor in Hollywood removed his/her (whatever) obama sticker from it’s car but it was on a few weeks back. Unlike 4 years ago when these pukes were bathing in hopeychangey..
Next up, lying Obama friendly exit polls that will be intended to suppress GOP voters (remember Gore “winning” Florida before voting ended in the conservative panhandle?) and inflame the shiftless 47% into rioting and believing in their teeny tiny brains that the election was “stolen.”
...Except for China.
We need more debates with a similar result. I don’t believe that Obama is a sitting duck, so best not to depend on the second and third debates being tkos.
