Be prepared Mr.Romney - False perception bipartisanship
New York Times

Posted on 10/11/2012 12:04:39 PM PDT by indianyogi

Here are the questions somebady raised! Mr. Romney must have an answer ready for these.

"Obama should counter this false perception of Romney bi-partisanship with Romney's actual record in Massachusetts."

TOPICS: News/Current Events; Philosophy; Political Humor/Cartoons; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS:
The starting point would be 800 VETOES. That's right, 800 in ONE term as governor of Massachusetts, and almost all of them were overridden, and many were overridden unanimously with Republicans joining Democrats in overriding Romney's vetoes.

Obama should then use Romney's own words, in which he told the Boston Globe that he gave up working with Democrats AND Republicans, saying, "from now on it's me-me-me"., and in a 2008 campaign ad, Romney bragged about taking on the Massachusetts legislature, saying, "I like vetoes."

This makes Romney's use of the ONE legislative achievement - government mandated healthcare - an aberration in bi-partisanship, not his usual governing style that he FALSELY described in the recent debate.

Team Obama should be all over this, as it was this precise misrepresentation regarding Romney's bi-partisanship in MA that moved the polls (independents and undecideds) in Romney's favor.

If Romneycare is an aberration—and I ravenously hope it is—it’s nevertheless far more than anything Obama’s ever done. So no contest.

If you’re into bipartisanship, that is. Which I’m not.

“Bi-partisanship” is a smoke screen. The liberals want nothing to do with it as long as they’re in charge. If they’re out of power then they’re all for it for it gets them to the communist objectives. If Obama wants to point to Romney, all Romney has to do is point back at Democrats locking (literally) the Republicans out of any health care debates. Now that the Democrats are about to lose control, here we go with “bi-partisanship”. Don’t be surprise to see the “Blue Dawgs” come back. It’s all phoney and the Republicans need to wake up. Democrats will push their liberal agenda either with full steam or step-by-step.

The best thing Romney could do would be to start issuing executive orders from day one saying that he’s taking immediate action to get the country working and then will work with Congress to craft the necessary legislation. He needs to get rid of the Departments, regulations, and clear the way for businesses to start building. You can bet the Democrats will have this tied up for years if he doesn’t act decisively. And then they’ll blame Romney. And they’ll be right.

And the Pravda Press is complicit. They will shriek with indignation if Republicans try to do anything with less than 51% Democrat involvement.... but suddenly 'lose their voice' when Democrats shut out Republicans completely.
