Syrian army pushing rebels out of Damascus, activists say
TheNewsTribune.com-Oct 1, 2012
[...]
The Syrian Network for Human Rights listed 483 women and children as among the dead across the country.
Violence had ebbed from an initial high in February and dropped in April and May after the announcement of a United Nations-backed peace plan. But violence escalated again in June as the plan fell apart and neither side showed a willingness to negotiate.
The Syrian government stopped publicizing casualties among the army and security forces earlier this year, though in June the Syrian governments own reports indicated rebels were sometimes killing dozens of soldiers each day. The number of total dead in the conflict is now likely more than 35,000.

soetoro approves most heartily....
Syria is the location of a proxy war between all groups in the middle east fighting for power. Syria will not be left alone, or decisively resolved, for probably meny years.
The video was very instructive as to what’s being happening for 18mos. People started the socalled Arab Spring and then left them...jihad has taken over...was it planned to happen that way...who knows. It reminds me of the genuine Iranian uprising when we did nothing.
Meekly Obama that never shuts his mouth, chose —all-of-a-sudden— to be silent, and not uttering a word of US’ moral support to the 2009-Iran protesters
Iran and Syria are Shi’ite countries. The Sunni Muslim Brotherhood are the chosen ones. Not sticking up for Assad but think he’s trying to get rid of terrorists infiltrating from the Sunni countries. I think Syria has been the most tolerant of Catholics and other religions out of all of them.
If you removed the apostrophe, you'd be right.
On one hand yes, on the other hand they -with Hezbollah and Palestinians- have inflicted crimes on the Christians in Lebanon, since, at least the Damour 1976 massacre...
Very sad to see children suffer the evil embraced by the ideologues and ignorant.
This is not the way of Christ. This is Islam.
The Christian Lebanese felt sorry and let thousands of muslim refugees in...that’s how Hezbollah arrived in the south and it;s been downhill from there for Lebanon. One can’t give any of them an inch.
And SOB! if I ever imagined that in my lifetime I'd be rooting for the survival of an Assad regime in Syria. How the world has changed....
lol
“But whom does Obama want to replace them with?”

Great question. That’s why I say to him, hands off.
Why am I only seeing this story on Catholic.org?
(Not to put it down, I’m Catholic, but it should be on the national news channels!)
It beats me too.
The Religion of Piece.
A couple of weeks ago, I read that the muslim brotherhood has given Jordan an ultimatum that would kick in October 15th if they did not comply with their demands or else they will send 50,000 muslims into their country like they did Egypt. I can’t remember where I read it.
the arab SPRING has SPRUNG
