Michael Savage planning radio comeback
SFGate ^ | 10/11/12 | Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross, Chronicle Columnists

San Francisco conservative talk show host Michael Savage - off the air since last month after winning a legal battle with his bosses - expects to be back behind a microphone within two weeks.

"I've got to get back before these (presidential) debates are over," Savage said Tuesday. "And when I do, it will be bigger than ever."

Savage's lawyer, Daniel Horowitz - who led the legal fight to get the nationally syndicated star out of his contract with the Talk Radio Network - said the hot-talk hotshot is in discussions with three "major players" he declined to name.

As for whether the deal will include a local station, Horowitz said, "I can't comment. It might tip our hand."

Before splitting with the Talk Radio Network, Savage - who has a long history of battling with his various bosses - had a listening audience estimated at 8 million, according to the Web magazine Talkers. That made him one of the most popular radio personalities in the nation.

Since leaving the airwaves last month, he's been spending his time visiting his son in Beverly Hills, working on the sequel to his action novel "Abuse of Power," and "planning my return from retirement," Savage said on a cell phone from a local Indian buffet.

"The Mossad will not let me disclose anything more."

How savage.

It wouldn’t surprise me if CNN even tries to entice him. The Piers guy is losing viewers on a weekly basis, and ought to be replaced.

Really? Seriously? Savage is the most entertaining voice in radio, talk or otherwise. He’ll be back.

On WWGY, Savage’s first two hours have been replaced by Michael Berry who’s quite entertaining. The third hour is now Mark Levin’s third hour - LIVE!!! followed by the entire three hour show.I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Mark Levin will be moved to the entire Savage time spot so that I can hear him earlier and LIVE!

I don’t miss Savage. He’s good at times but other times he’s a bore especially when he whines/talks about himself.

I’m from Houston and listen to Michael Berry.

I can listen to Savage for about ten minutes before I get a little tired of hearing how great he is.

He’s been saying he’ll be returning “in two weeks” for the last two weeks - shut up already and return!

Savage’s show is like the CATCH OF THE DAY.....tune in and you don’t know (1) if he will be there (2) who will be the guest host (3) how old the re-run is.

Why not MSNBC or even National Public Radio? After all, Michael Savage is a Jerry Brown supporter.

One thing I liked about Savage was that he chose good guest hosts, unlike Laura Ingraham, who usually plays re-runs of her old shows when she's absent.

Savage is the only independent talk show host.

All the others are whores of the GOP-e.

e.g. Karl Rove lives inside of Hannity’s back pocket.

Now, what do you suppose that means?

The title of the article states he’ll be making a “RADIO” comeback. ;-)
