What fifty years of liberalism has brought: Detroit is crumbling faster than Obama presidency

“Detroit is America’s most violent city” “Detroit’s homicide rate is the highest in the country” “Detroit’s Police Department is grossly understaffed” these are the opening lines of a warning from the Motor City’s Police Union advising people that for their own safety they should stay away from Detroit.

The declaration goes on to say that DPD officers are required to work 12 hour shifts, TWELEVE HOUR SHIFTS! Imagine how exhausting it would be to work at ANY job for 12 straight hours, finish up and look forward to coming back ½ a day later for 12 more hours!

DPD cops are the lowest paid police officers of any big city in the country and make far less than many cops in surrounding towns. Working from street level the cops know that liberalism has destroyed one of America’s once great cities.

How did this happen?

Detroit is the crown jewel of liberalism’s tiara of failure. It has been run by Democrats for so long that few even remember the last time a Republican was mayor.

As far back as February 2010 Barack Obama entered into discussions with Detroit’s Mayor Dave Bing to facilitate the process of physically tearing down large sections of Detroit. Democrats are prone to say a job is too big for one man when that one man is a Democrat. Haven’t we heard “He did better than anyone else could have” as an excuse for Obama’s failures?

The Democrats have admitted that fifty years of their rule has left Detroit flat on its back and gasping for air. Since the “wrecking ball” option was selected the Democrats have feasted on its carcass and devoured anything of value they could get their hands on. But they haven’t mustered the guts to start the actual process, they are just letting nature reclaim her territory.

Nevertheless, Detroit’s cops know their city is wiggling in its death throes. They are doing the honorable thing by warning the public to stay away as the Motor City fades to black.

For many years the left has rewarded those with the proper mindset, those of the proper race or those loyal to the most powerful liberal in town. Competence has never entered into the equation. Only those fools in the tank for Obama and his evil regime really wonder why Democrat-run cities have gone broke over this entire nation.

The other day a list of the World’s 50 Most Dangerous Cities came out (heavily populated by third-world cesspools).

Both Detroit and Baltimore made the list.

If the O’s pull it out this year’s AL Championship could be called The Drive-By Series.

Detroit needs to be partitioned into smaller cities and townships, or wholesale eliminated as an actual municipality and put under direct state control.

But Michigan just has this stupid soft spot for the place that is just insane. They dont want to pull the plug on the states supposedly only “nationally known” city.

I just went through the slide show of “The Ruins of Detroit.” I knew it was bad, having seen many of the images before, but seeing the whole slide show is really depressing. Detroit’s ruins look like the set of a post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie, but this is real.

This is 0bama’s vision for 99% of America. It’s exactly where his policies will lead us. Only the ruins will be poputlated, as there will be nowhere else to go.

I know you’ve seen the photographs of Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Dresden, Nurnberg, etc. and how beautifully they’ve been rebuilt after almost total destruction.

Then you see Detroit and other American metropolitan cities and it makes you want to puke!

America is in rapid decline and if these asses get another four years our goose is indeed cooked!

Saw the first half via Netflix and believed it was well put together and I’m anxiously awaiting the second installment.

People in Detroit truly believe that all they need is more liberalism.

My recollection of that list is that New Orleans was the US city with the highest murder rate.

The bulk of the cities in the top 50 for murder rates were in Latin America (but concentrated in certain countries--some countries didn't have any cities on the list). Several cities in Mexico. Caracas was number 5 or number 6.

Yeah I believe Flint has the highest per capita murder rate.

FReepers have fallen into a bad habit of never questioning things that should be obvious because it goes against what the cool kids want them to say. FReepers should be smarter than this.

Detroit does have the highest number of justifiable homicides that are generally defensive killings. Unfortunately they’re counted as violent crimes for statistical purposes.

A few days ago, FReepers happily joined the Detroit policeman’s union in attempting to blackmail the city when the police were warning that the city was dangerous. FReepers happily went along.

Sure Detroit is dangerous, just like DC, Chicago, Philly, St Louis, NJ and any number of other cities. One think Detroit has going for it that most of those others don’t is armed citizens increasingly willing to defend themselves.

Call in “Robocop”

OCP’s Bob Morton projects the end of crime in Old Detroit within 40 days.
