i’d doubt the 90% for most as f = ma, and their legs don’t weigh nearly what a guys’ legs weigh. they put too much “a” on it and they’ll be sporting broken bones.

What percentage of females at a gym are competitive gymnasts?

If you think female gymnasts are some of the strongest people on earth, for their weight, you need to do a little research.

I hate to crush all those girls ideas who think watching TV and movies is a good way to view the relative athletic abilities of men and women, but just compare World records for men and women in track and field.

Note you can’t compare them except in the same events where the distances and weights are the same. For example, men run the 110 meter high hurdles, while women run the 100 meter medium hurdles tho they still call them high.

Men throw a heavier shot and discus so those can’t be directly compared, but compare say the women’s world record in the 100 meters with the girls, then compare the typical state high school boys 100 meter times with women’s world record times.

I used to think girls did’nt have a lot of strength

For a short while I went with a hundred pound alcholic girl that

got mad at me and pushed me so hard I was thrown into the

wall in her apt. I got up and limped out the door never to return

I used to manage Mitchell Hall at Lackland AFB.

One night an airman from Somoa, I want give his name, just all of a sudden punched a hole in the wall. After that he was calm, just said he was frustrated.

We had him arrested but I really sort of felt sorry for him. The APs carried him off but if he had wanted to he could have caused a lot of harm.

The legs don’t surprise me. I’ve worked in a gym and have seen some chicks push some weight. I almost never see a chick do a single pull up though.

You haven't heard about Crossfit women, haven't you. Crossfit women can do pullups, handstand pushups, bench press, and other upper body exercises, putting many, if not most, men to shame.

Annie Thorisdottir won the two last years. They are not remotely average.

She’s a basketball player that went out for the FLAG football team. The varsity coach watched her and ASKED her to play for the team. She didn’t sue, beg, cajole, or do anything other than show herself to be a good athlete.

Kudos to her.

At the “Y” gym this year I watched in utter awe as an attractive young lady went over to the pull-up bar and proceeded to do a dozen quick pull-ups.

Stood there with my jaw open for some time....found another guy and said, “DID YOU SEE THAT!?!? I’VE NEVER SEEN A FEMALE DO PULL-UPS IN MY LIFE - AND SHE DID A DOZEN!”

I suppose it could be true that you could out play the boys in your high school if they were carefully selected to be small, slow, and weak.

Let’s not get too far into fembot fantasy. The offensive line at the high school nearest us averages 290. I workout with the tight end, who is 280, 6’7”, and runs a 4.5 40. Ours is far from the best team in the district, and our district is nothing special. The only way that girl could avoid serious injury is if she isn’t played (which is essentially what happened) or if the boys still felt inhibitions about putting a hit on a girl

This was a PC gimmick.

You do realize that your response to the comment about pullups is irrelevant, don’t you? If you don’t, you might consider what a normal distribution is and how someone several standard deviations from the mean tells you nearly nothing that would allow you to compare the distributions o female and female upper body strength. And, in case you are wondering, male gymnasts are generally far stronger in the upper body than their female counterparts, even pound for pound. You don’t, for example, see the females doing iron crosses.

I just looked up the world record for the pole vault men’s and women’s. I guess you think the girls are just as good or maybe just a few inches less.

Well the actual difference is nearly 4 feet!

I bet if you asked 100 girls how close the men and women are in the pole vault, most would say about the same.

They have been told over and over again that girls can do anything men can do.

A saw, on Youtube, a 40+ year old female do 43 pullups. This is of course freakish. She was tiny with Olive Oil legs, and no T&A. Still extremely impressive.
