British say weapons they left at U.S. consulate in Benghazi are missing

When British diplomats abandoned their offices in Benghazi over the summer after the British ambassador’s motorcade was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades, their security detail left its weapons and vehicles in the custody of the U.S. consulate in that eastern Libyan city.

Now that cache of weapons is missing amid signs that the Islamist militants suspected in the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. consulate and a nearby annex remain active, despite Libyan government demands that they disband.

The June 11 attack on British Ambassador Sir Dominic Asquith as he drove through Benghazi is among a list of 230 security incidents, 48 in Benghazi alone, that U.S. officials compiled to show how dangerous Libya had become. Two of Asquith’s security guards were wounded in the attack. In contrast to the Americans, who remained in Benghazi, the British determined that the city was too dangerous and closed their offices.

After Gaddafi was deposed, 10,000 - 20,000 MANPADS, shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles went missing that can take out commercial airliners. Glen Doherty (one of the Seals killed) was in Libya because he was on an intel mission trying to track them down. Not hearing too much about the dangers of these missing weapons, are we?

That may explain why the State Dept. official testifying before Issa’s committee gave the astounding “guesstimate” that there are “between 10,00 and 20,000” such weapons missing!!! Good grief. I hope the new ambassador taking the post in Libya has his will up to date.

Don’t they mean disgruntled movie goers? I heard somewhere that it was all an accident and that we are sorry for causing any hard feelings because somebody put out a crappy movie. Guess I heard wrong huh? Why didn’t the Brits take their stuff with them? Are they becoming like the french? Also heard that the ambassador to Barbados had a Marine contingency standing by in case there was a sudden upsurge in terrorist activity there. No wonder these clowns attack whenever they feel like it. The administration makes excuses for them instead of protecting Americans. Am I fairly disgusted with this whole mess? Understatement!

That question is the KEY to this whole disaster.

Will someone have the stones to bring the CIA to the table?

It usually doesn’t happen. A dead Ambassador and several whistleblowers might bring it to the table.

Issa hasn’t brought CIA to the table over Fast and Furious.

But this time they have the head of the CIA lying about a protest that never happened.

British Guns Accounted For After Benghazi Consulate Attack
12/10/2012 11:55:00
Britih Foreign Office diplomats withdrew from the Libyan city in June following an assassination attempt on the British ambassador but reached an agreement with the US to leave weapons and vehicles at the American compound.

The lightly-guarded US site was overrun by Islamist militants in an attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans last month.
h ttp://www.tripolipost.com/articledetail.asp?c=1&i=9292

The Foreign Office has confirmed to the UK daily newspaper The Daily Telegraph that the equipment is still unaccounted for a month after the Benghazi assault.

Dozens of attackers tore through the American compound during the September 11 attack and since then Libyans have often roamed freely through its remains, raising the possibility that the British weapons have already been looted.

Details of the agreement between the British and American diplomatic security teams emerged during a Congressional hearing into the Benghazi attack on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wood, the leader of a US special forces team in Libya, said a deal had been made where the British would “leave their weapons and vehicles on our compound in Benghazi”.

“They would come back and at times withdraw their weapons and vehicles and then return them and leave,” he said.

Britain’s decision to remove diplomats from the eastern Libyan city was repeatedly raised during the hearing, as Republicans demanded to know why the US had stayed even when its close ally had decided the situation was no longer safe.

Lt Col Wood said that the withdrawal of British diplomats and Red Cross workers should have been a warning to US diplomats. “I almost expected the attack to come. We were the last flag flying, it was a matter of time,” he said.

Sir Dominic Dominic Asquith, Britain’s envoy to Libya, survived a rocket attack on his on his convoy as it drove through Benghazi on June 11 but two of his bodyguards were injured. The ambush prompted the Foreign Office to close its office and remove British staff.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman would not give details of the British equipment in Benghazi. “Following the suspension of our office in Benghazi the US consulate agreed to store some equipment on our behalf. We are working with the US to establish what, if anything, has happened to this equipment,” she said.

The US State Department did not return a request by the newspaper for comment.

Meanwhile, the mother of one of the Americans killed in Benghazi said she was “repeatedly lied to” by the Obama administration and given no details about her son’s death.

Pat Smith, whose son Sean died alongside Mr Stevens, told CNN: “’I look at TV and I see bloody hand prints on walls, thinking: ‘My God, is that my son’s? I don’t know if he was shot. I don’t know - I don’t know.”

I think CIA is going to have to get dragged in since Hillary is desperate to keep the blame off of State. Biden, at the debate, screwed the pooch and forced the WH to dig a moat, walling them off from CIA/State. So ... now Hillary is fighting for her political life and she won’t go down easy. Bill has already assembled a legal team and they are informally going through State cables, etc. since Hillary is probably going to have to testify at some point. It’s a ‘Rat fight and I’d enjoy it a whole lot more if 4 Americans weren’t dead and if our national security hadn’t been compromised. We’re going to get attacked here at home again the way things are headed.

When an administration intentionally tramples the US Constitution, rewards illegal activity, is so unbelievably screwing up the nation, attacks achievement, and lies constantly, there can be little thinking people can believe but that it may be intentional.

Here is one possibility that is entirely plausible given what we know at this point:

They have our arms.
We want them back before they blow up a plane with them.
We make a deal.
Give us the arms.
We give you the Blind Sheik (along with God knows what else)

To sell this to the American Public we have to stage a kidnapping.
It helps get Obama reelected. It serves a muliple purposes.

But as the whacko operation unfolds - it goes wrong - because you can’t trust a Muzzie.

I believe this CIA FUBAR involves missing arms and the Blind Sheik. Stevens and 3 others are collateral damage.

Perhaps the suddenly found Stevens journal was planted to shift focus to the the State Department.

The ambassador's killing was obama and Hillary tying up some loose ends. It was set up by Hillary and obama. How? By making the ambassador"s travel schedule and destination known. By making those who were going to kill him aware that the consolate was unarmed. Why? Probably because for all practical purposes he had accomplished what they had planned for him, and hence, he changed from an asset to a liability. He knew where the bodies were buried. he knew wher the guns were and who supplied them and how they were supplied.

It was kinda like Vince Foster's "suicide". It should serve as a teachable moment for the obama worshipers and the Clinton worshipers but it won't. Why? Because they do not possess the intelligence to comprehend ... well anything.

Denmark Criticises Last Year’s NATO’s Libya Mission
13/10/2012 13:25:00

NATO’s lack of military intelligence hampered Denmark’s bombing campaign in Libya in 2011, according to a confidential report.

The problems arose after the Air Force was moved from American to NATO leadership on March 31 last year. Before the switchover, Denmark’s missions were guided by the US, which had superior military intelligence.

IMF Predicts Economic Growth for North Africa
10/10/2012 09:34:00

The International Monetary Fund, IMF, said on Tuesday, that due mainly to a strong rebound of activity in Libya, the Middle East and North Africa’s oil exporting countries will see economic growth accelerate in 2012 to 6.6 percent.

The forecast marked a rare upgrade in the IMF’s semi-annual World Economic outlook report after it downgraded its expectations for global growth, Reuters has reported.

The IMF had forecast growth of 4.8 percent across the oil producing economies of the Middle East and Africa in its previous semi-annual review in April. Growth in 2011 was 3.9 percent.

Slow Economy and Higher Output Set to Ease Oil Prices
13/10/2012 13:14:00

The world could see a gradual easing of oil prices over the next five years due to sluggish economic growth and rising energy efficiency and as production increases steeply in Iraq and North America, the West’s energy watchdog said on Friday.

The International Energy Agency, IEA,which advises industrialised nations on energy policy, cut its global oil demand growth projection for 2011-2016 by 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) compared to its previous report in December 2011, Reuters has reported.

As a result, the pressure on OPEC to produce more oil will ease dramatically and the cartel will have to cut production to no more than 31 million bpd until 2017 to balance global demand. It has been producing between 31 and 32 million bpd this year.
