Hes had a highly publicized relationship with a social acquaintance that rocked his marriage.
His name is repeatedly linked to disgraced former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Now hes the target of a federal investigation into suspicious activity into his congressional finances.
What does all this mean for Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.s political future when the Nov. 6 election is a little more than three weeks away?
Hes going to be re-elected, political consultant Thom Serafin said. In this particular part of the world, being a D is so important.

Unlike Jackson, Rostenkowski was convicted and served prison time following an investigation for improper use of his congressional fund. Still, the powerful Democrat won elections with the ethical clouds swirling around him until the indictment came. Then he was ousted by a little known Republican, ending a 36-year political career.
Rosti crushed the reformers in the Democratic Primary. I believe it was a negotiating tactic. Then he completely withdrew his machine during the general giving the seat to the GOP. He would have been reelected indictment or not.
Isn’t there an attendance requirement for members of Congress?
Jackson has been out for 4 straight months - can’t he be removed because of “incapacity” to represent the voters?
Of course he’ll be reelected - - what do those people care?
Jr. could kill the first born of every constituent in his district and still get elected.
Being black while politician means you get lifetime employment for yourself, relatives and cronies.
Keep saying to yourself.
