Science is hard: Andrea Mitchell graphic says ‘Fearless Felix traveled faster than speed of light’

Oh, our aching sides! As Twitchy reported yesterday, daredevil and skydiver Felix Baumgartner made his space jump, in which he hoped to travel faster than the speed of sound.

Science is hard, to lapdogs. Especially for the ones at MSNBC, evidently. Sound? Light? Same difference! No need to let pesky science get in the way.

Did Felix carry an iPod playing “magic Carpet Ride” also, did the Vulcans notice and drop by some podunk town in Montana to say Hi?

Wow, now there’s a major league science fail.

Once again the MSNBC minions are showing us what sophisticated, knowledgeable, and factual reporters they are.

I wonder if “Sci-Fi Felix” was going fast enough in warp drive to time travel into the future as Einstein predicted. Inquiring minds want to know.

Andrea Mitchell’s physical and mental decline will be portrayed on screen by Meryl Streep.

The speed of light is approx. 186,000 miles per second.

Multiply that by 3600 to get per hour.

I calculate a free fall time of about 130 microseconds and a large explosion and crater where he hit.

I’m surprised he didn’g go right to PLAID!

Well since, at the speed of light, he became infinitely massive, he thought plaid might make his ass look big.

Why is it the idiots who needed to cheat to pass Physics for Poets feel they can lecture the rest of us on Global Warming, or the Economy or any other quantitative subject. As a matter of fact most of these idiots know less about geography, history, or Shakespeare, for that matter than most engineers.

Great scene. Loved the song “Benson Arizona” as the astronaut burns up in the atmosphere.

What would happen if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90% the speed of light?

Interesting answer that I can’t swear to, but sounds plausible -
