Time for your daily reminder that State didn’t merely stick Chris Stevens with “average” security despite him living and working in one of the jihadi-est places on earth. The security they provided him was actively, inexplicably, inexcusably bad. And before you read any further, let me remind you that the ominous chat-room message posted by Sean Smith the day he died about a Libyan guard taking photos of the compound still hasn’t been addressed by anyone in the government that I’ve seen. Did Stevens’s security break down to the point that his killers actually had someone on the inside?
More red flags from Reuters:
State Department officials suspected that two Libyan guards hired by its own security contractor were behind an April incident in which a homemade bomb was hurled over the wall of the special mission in Benghazi, according to official emails obtained by Reuters…
The April attack illustrated concerns among some U.S. officials in Libya that hiring local residents for embassy guard duties could in itself raise security issues.
The emails identified one of the suspects in that incident as a former employee of Blue Mountain Group who had been fired four days earlier for vandalism, and said the other was still working for the company. Both were unarmed guards who performed routine security tasks, such as screening visitors.
Other firms in the security industry expressed surprise that Blue Mountain had won a large, high profile contract from the US government. One industry executive said the level of service Blue Mountain provided did not appear adequate to the risks presented by a lawless city.
“We have visited the consulate in Benghazi a number of times and have an excellent relationship with the Americans. Our assessment was the unarmed Libyan guards were extremely poor calibre,” said one security source. “The Libyan Ministry of Interior are generally not happy with Blue Mountain and had them on their close observation/target list.”
The New York Times last week reported that major security firms with a track record of guarding US premises elsewhere had made approaches to undertake work in Libya but were rebuffed.
“We went in to make a pitch, and nothing happened,” a security firm official told the newspaper.
OK here’s another question: What were US officials in Libya doing on a ‘chat room’ in the first place? And... what ‘chat-room’ was he on?
Was this a secure web site? Did posting that they saw photos being taken signal to the attackers that they were seen? And maybe force their hand to attack before their target withdrew?
Isn’t that the kind of operational intelligence better communicated to the uppper levels of command, rather than ‘chat-room’ buddies?

Also explains why that apology came out of the Cairo embassy prior to the Libya incident. At that time all was going according to plan. That was why Ostupid went to bed. They wanted to blame the hostage taking on that movie, but it all went awry. Now that the movie thing was out there they had to stick to the narrative.

I’m beginning to think that the ‘arrest’ of alleged ‘film maker’ was staged as well.
I am always skeptical, but you know, this blogpost seems to make sense. We know they are hiding something pretty awful by the way they act about it.
If this is somewhat the truth, this would be explosive.
The film maker had to be shut up and hidden. He will probably mysteriously die in jail.
This Administration has major second agenda and is laying it fast and loose in Libya. They are deliberately turning a blind eye to ominous events and they are working behind the scenes with the Muslim Brotherhood and other boots on the ground players to consolidate power and grab as much wealth and power for themselves as possible.
That is why Stevens was appointed Ambassador. He was very much a Middle East insider and nativist who had developed close personal relationships with leaders and powerful people in the region.
He was also a Chicago insider who was Obama’s personal man on the ground to liaison with the Libyan opposition groups and coordinate the Administration’s official actions and support for the opposition along with the much more important and effective unofficial support from whoever is backing Obama’s.
His job as Ambassador was to continue his role as Obama’s personal and confidential agent on the ground to continue the work he started during the Libyan revolution.
Obama and Clinton simply do not want any of the American professional State Dept, Foreign Service, Intelligence, Security or Military people on the ground keeping an eye on what they are doing because it would be obvious to these people that Obama is not working to further American interests on behalf of the American people in the region, but is instead working to further foreign interests and his personal interests and those of his backers and cronies. of
The critical thing to realize is that the Obama Administration took and active role in driving the Arab spring.
Immediately after Obama was elected, a large number of Obama and Democrat party operatives , community organizers, activists and media propagandists descended on Egypt and other Middle East countries and began an amazingly well funded campaign to destabilize the vulnerable Arab governments and undermine it’s leaders.
They actively worked with like minded domestic allies to train opposition groups, set up plans for coordinated outbreaks of “spontaneous” protest and violence, organized political opposition and organize and operate effective media and propaganda in what were previously closed societies where the government controlled all flow of information.
The efforts were sophisticated, well organized and lavishly funded with money from who knows where.
They succeeded.
Obama’s Stanley Greenberg led regime change team’s efforts overthrew more established governments in shorter time than just about any group in history.
Team Obama and it’s power brokers and cronies obviously had serious plans for not just overthrowing the old order in the Arab world, they had plans for shaping the post Arab Spring world and using it to their personal advantage.
Those plans are not based on American interests or America’s agenda, it’s based on the personal agendas of Obama and whoever he is beholden to. We are seeing that plan unfold over the last few years and based on the actions of the Obama Administration, they are happy with events so things must be going as planned.
Over 40 years, Gaddafi built a worldwide financial empire and invested close to a trillion dollars to buy politicians and strategic interests in powerful companies around the world and particularly in Europe.
All of Libya’s and Muammar Gaddafi’s personal oil wealth, massive covert financial empire, and military power is up for grabs to whoever can seize it in the aftermath of his death and the ensuing chaos, confusion and governmental authority melt down . Gaddafi was one of the worlds richest men and he used his wealth to buy power and influence world wide.
Obama wants as few American professionals on the ground and involved in Libya as possible to make sure there is no responsible American Government oversight or actions that might interfere with whatever he has going on in Libya to divy up Gaddafi’s wealth and power and to control Libya’s oil wealth going forward. While the critical consolidation of power and wealth is in process, Obama also does not want American professionals to be able to get a feel for what is happening on the ground and compare notes to figure out how American military and political assets and clout are being co opted and misused to help further his second agenda in Libya
Thanks so much for tht post. I kind of thought that was how it must be. Earlier, I called it meddling. Simple, but true. That is how they operate.
Remember shortly after Obama was coronated, he said they would not be interfering with other nations.
I knew right then that that would be exactly what they would be doing.
When all the Arab Spring happenings happened, I knew they were behind it. I am sure factions in those countries wanted to overthrow their dictators, what they didn’t want was for the Obama admin to replace the dictators.
This was destined to work out bad.
