RUSH: I want to share with you something that I saw yesterday at National Review Online. As you know, one of my favorite authors and writers is Victor Davis Hanson. The title of this piece is "A Presidency Squandered." It doesn't require much for me to make the point here. "The Obama narrative is that he inherited the worst mess in memory and has been stymied ever since by a partisan Congress -- while everything from new ATM technology to the Japanese tsunami conspired against him.
"But how true are those claims? Barack Obama entered office with an approval rating of over 70%. John McCain’s campaign had been anemic and almost at times seemed as if it was designed to lose nobly to the nation’s first African-American presidential nominee." Now, listen to this. It's a recitation of names who fell for all of this, and there's one name you will not hear on this list.
Coming up, Victor Davis Hanson mentions all of the people who fell for the Obama myth. As I go through this (it's not long, but it's significant), there's one name you will not hear. "One-percenter magnates welcomed Obama. If Steve Wynn, Donald Trump, and Mort Zuckerman now blast Obama, just four years ago they seemed to have found him a relief from George W. Bush. Christopher Buckley and the late Christopher Hitchens openly endorsed [Obama].
"Republicans like Colin Powell, Scott McClellan, and Doug Kmiec all went public with their support. One got the impression from what David Frum, David Brooks, and Peggy Noonan wrote that with a wink and a nod they had welcomed his election. Never has a president entered office with so much goodwill from so many diverse quarters." All of those names -- all of those powerful, big-time Republican opinion makers -- fell for it.
They all wanted everybody to know that they, too, were in on the celebration of the election of the first black president, and that's all that mattered. Seventy percent approval rating. There was one person who said in the midst of all this, "I hope he fails," and that person was me. And the reason I said it was because I knew exactly what was going to happen, and it has. Because I know liberals. I know their ideology.
I know their intentions. I know their tactics. I know predominantly that at the top of the list in defining a liberal is: They cannot tell you the truth about who they are and what they intend or they would never win an election in this country. And, of course, I was raked over the coals for being insensitive or whatever the charges were.
But I stuck by it. I didn't buy into this ever, and I'm not buying into any of it now. I'm not buying into Hillary Clinton being responsible. I'm not buying into the claim that Obama and Biden didn't know. I'm not buying into any aspect of the story. And I'm telling you that you can trust me in my analysis of this administration and the people in it.

Colin Powell remains entirely irrelevant. I don’t know why we made a point of it back then. You know these lifelong bureaucrats pick Pub or Dem by toiling a coin.
As for the so-called conservative beltway punditry, I could care less. They’ve been lost cause forever. Only it was funny to read why their rationalizations. They’d say anything to escape admitting it was because he’s (half) black.
I think there is certainly one part of the American population that didn’t buy into Barack Obama whatsoever—and they were people on Free Republic.

In the 2008 election, Obama had a lot of goodwill from many prominent Republicans who all wanted to be seen as jubilant that America had a mulatto president, supposedly proving their lack of racism. Like Rush, most FR conservatives found Obama to be as leftist as they come and his having a black African as his biological father didn't change our perception, which proved to be right.
Fast-forward to now. Obama has shown the world who he really is (even if a lot of Americans are still clueless) and has made a hash of his opportunity to be a good, if not great president. Instead, Obama has been a first class failure that needs to go. We've now tried socialism and Affirmative Action on the presidential level. Both failed. Time to get serious and rid ourselves of the Kenyan Marxist.
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Powell make a 11th hour endorsement of Romney. He endorsed Obama in 2008 with the expectation (in my opinion) that he would be offered a high up position in the administration, well Obama gladly accepted his endorsement then tossed him under the bus. For the last four years the democrats won't give him the time of day because they haven't forgiven him for being Bush's Secretary of State and he burnt his bridges with Republicans by endorsing Obama. He is essentially a man without a party, which equals zilch in the circles of power.

Hillary took ‘responsibility’ but did not take the blame. Big difference.

All the evidence was there on Baraq. One simple stat was he had the most leftist voting record in the Senate IIRC.
A lot of people either didn’t want to believe, or were fogged by the MSM cheerleader squad.
Plus the company bo kept, such as reverend wright, bill ayers, and rezco. How could anybody not know?
Yeah, I remember when Rush said that. My parents were appalled, so I told them I agree with Limbaugh. I’ve been rooting for Obama to fail since before day one because I knew from the outset he hates the USA, and leadership (such as it is) born in a pool of that hatred cannot be any good.
They are passing the buck around so much that it imitates their philosophy of “spreading the wealth around.” This buck is getting spread very thin.
Colin Powell is a perfect example of how racist the majority of the black community is.
Liberals are so predictable
The one thing we’ve learned from the 2008 election (among so many things) is that the PRESIDENCY is too serious of a job to simply vote for someone’s skin color.
Didn’t all these fools who were taken in by Bork Obunga’s empty suit rhetoric realize that the key cornerstone of his beliefs were socialist/fascist and anti-American?

Except the people here who were willing to NOT use their vote to unseat him with “anyone but Obama.”
It's this bad, that there is even a cloud over his paternity to the extent that we can't tell if he's truly mulatto (half Luo, half white) or 1/8th African ("octoroon", Spanish ochavado or quinteron) and the rest either European or Arab Caucasian. It's all up in the air -- especially his religion, and even his citizenship.
Just damn. How could people be so stupid? The man is truly a "pig in a poke".
