Commentary ^ | 10/16/2012 | Alana Goodman

This is nothing short of disastrous for President Obama. After dodging responsibility for the Benghazi attack for over a month, pointing fingers at everything from the State Department to the intelligence community, the White House is outclassed by…Hillary Clinton. By taking the blame now, Hillary effectively 1.) Undermined Obama’s leadership, 2.) Put pressure on him right before a major debate to take the heat...

Hillary just said that it was 3 am and Zero wasn't answering the phone (he was in Vegas, I guess), so she took the call.

The Clintons sure have the ‘I apologize’ thing down pat, don’t they??

It’s about all either one of them can be counted on to do!!

Screw up then stand in front of a camera and play contrite!

Actually, it was mid-afternoon and into the evening when the consulate was under attack.

Apology is not an appropriate response for taking responsibility. Stepping down is.

Americans died, there is no reason for his apology. Now if Muslims had died he’d be repeating his “bow to the world” tour.

I hope is messes with him big time tonight. I hope it is one of the questions by the audience of why he didn’t man up and let Hillary take the fall instead. I hope somebody asks him just how big is the bus of his he keeps throwing folks under including his own grandmother back in ‘08.

Who is responsible for the "video" hoax?

Who is responsible for ignoring the real-time feed coming from the burning consulate?

0bama has now been boxed in by his own administration. If he doesn’t accept responsibility, he’s proves he’s no leader. We all know this, but to the Americans who are not totally in the tank for him, this kills him. People instinctively know a leader and know who is not. Everyone has had the bad boss who dumps on their employees.

If he accepts responsibility, he opens himself up to all the attacks about blowing off security briefings, ignoring the requests for more security, going to Vegas instead of responding to the attack, and then lying and covering up.

This is so bad, I think the media will finally say “you’re on your own.”

Last night Hillary also apologized to San Diego Chargers fans, taking responsibility for their team blowing a 24-point halftime lead.

The disarray we are witnessing is delicious. The dems are dumfounded as they push to what they believe is their destiny.

It will be for us to dutifully observe their self-destruction.

Hillary plays the martyr well. She used Bill's indiscretions to attract sympathy, especially from women, and create her own political identity. She still has powerful friends in the news media who can spin this into altruism and selfless patriotism.

‘Is Hillary to blame for Benghazi?’

0bama ignores, walks away from reporter's question. CNN video of the exchange at the link.

I’m guessing his spin doctors have come up with a teleprompter response, and “that’s his story and he’s sticking to it.” In tonight’s debate, it will be the very first question right out of the box so he can get his story out there before he forgets it. It also gets the issue out of the way so it doesn’t hang over his head, waiting for the shoe to drop.

Candy will follow the instructions of Axelrod to do exactly this.

Just my guess.

I actually heard Hillary's statement on the car radio while out today. She does say she takes responsibility for the attack, but in the very same breath she blames her security people. She was very quick to pass the buck elsewhere in her organization.

What started out as a class act became classless.
