Good morning, Luv!

*HUGS*

Great to see you this morning! A wild and woolly commute this morning - heavy fog coming out of my neighborhood - then two accidents on I-95 in the space of a quarter mile.

Good Morning, all you denizens of Free Republic!

This is Sarge checking in, at T-minus 54 hours and counting before The Wedding.

Well, it’s almost here. We are at a 95% solution for getting everything ready. The Bride’s family starts flying in tonight; Father-in-Law, an old Navy man, this afternoon, and Maniac, the best man, comes in tomorrow. The ceremony, the reception, and the honeymoon are all carved in Jell-o.

And so far, we’re holding it together. We’ve had two Bridezilla moments so far, and two unrelated teen meltdowns from Jailbait. There have been hair-pulling hair perms, nail-biting nail shellac-ing, and Sarge keeps it together with Jeff Dunham videos, and buying guns...

Demented Sis had to back out of being in the bridal party, but she’s gone whole-hawg-wild as our unofficial Wedding Planner. “You got this? No? Come with me!” was a common refrain, as she dragged The Bride all over town buying up 11th-hour bricbrac for the reception. We’re now fleshed out with all sorts of bride/groom goodies, and the hall will look a treat.

In lieu of a bachelor party, we’re just having a low-key grillout and settle round the fireplace after dark. The Bride’s family hasn’t been together in a number of years, so Sarge is allowing for maximum face-time with the inbounds.

Although, Sarge and Maniac might go out, have a few beers and punch hippies...

Brainiac’s little car took a dump on us; the power steering/AC belt broke, and though it’s a cheap repair, it won’t get done in time. That leaves us with Sarge’s Wee Beastie, The Bride’s SUV, and Demented Sis’s pickup truck as the fleet for getting things done.

Well, it’s the quiet before the storm right now. The Bride is out at Wallyworld, Jailbait is at school, Brainiac is taking her repose from her nocturnal existence, and Sarge is sucking down coffee and doing laundry.

Further bulletins as event warrant!

I’m enjoying your updates, Sarge, and I often think of you as I’m watching “My Fair Wedding” on Netflix.

Not doing too badly, thanks! I saw the Pain Doctor yesterday - a very nice guy. He’s recommending an epidural. He assured me he doesn’t use compounds like those involved in the fungal meningitis outbreak.
