Hilarious and Brutal: Romney kills at the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner
Fox News repost ^ | 10-18-2012

Tonight was the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner where the candidates take a humorous break from the campaign trail. But I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny Romney was as he delivered line after line, mostly about the president. In fact he landed some pretty hard blows on the president, namely one where in using the Sesame Street reference he said that President Obama’s remarks “are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 Trillion.” Ouch! And there’s a lot more where that came from.

My bet is that even though it was all in good fun, the left is going to hate it and will try and make something out of it. Maybe they’ll put all the jokes the didn’t like in a binder or something.

I’m convinced Dennis Miller wrote those jokes. Totally his style and he’s been campaigning with Romney this week.

I think you are on to something. His style for sure.

I don’t know who went first, but Romney brought down the house with his fearless, well delivered, hard hitting jokes at the expense of Obama and the media. He finished with a classy tribute to the charitable work of The Alfred E Smith Dinner, the Catholic Diocese, and the Cardinal. It’s no wonder he is winning.

Reflecting on Mitt’s performance, I wouldn’t be surprised if Miller also taught him some stuff about delivery and timing.

That also reminded me of Miller.

I really never would have suspected Romney could be so smooth and funny.

Obama’s jokes and speech wasn’t nearly as good. It was flat. I wonder who each of the two? The President usually has the best joke writers in New York and Hollywood for this event. I’ll bet John Stewart’s people looked it over today.

Wow! That was absolutely brilliant. As the title says, hillarious and brutal. I don’t think I could stomach listening to Obama’s reply, if it is available yet, but frankly I don’t see how on earth he COULD reply to that with anything but lame stutters!

Every word was perfect, and perfectly delivered.

Something is wrong with Obama, I think he is completely intimidated by Mitt Romney, his class, intelligence, money, family and perfect whiteness. In fact, I suspect even as a child, especially with such an odd family situation, he always felt inferior. As he became an adult he hid his complex and replaced it with resentment towards those who he felt had more than he did in many ways. Romney and family type would be his precise nemesis, it must be a personal hell for Obama.

I wish the President would have brought Joe Biden, he will laugh at anything!

The Apostle St. Peter to whom it was said upon this rock I will build my church. The story is all the more inspiring when you consider he had so many skeptics and scoffers at the time that was heard to say "If you got a church, you didn't build that".

I'd never suggest that the media is biased. I recognize that they have their job to do, I have my job to do. My job is to lay out a positive vision for the future of this country, and their job is to make sure no one finds out about it.
