Tonight was the annual Alfred E. Smith Dinner where the candidates take a humorous break from the campaign trail. But I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny Romney was as he delivered line after line, mostly about the president. In fact he landed some pretty hard blows on the president, namely one where in using the Sesame Street reference he said that President Obama’s remarks “are brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 Trillion.” Ouch! And there’s a lot more where that came from.
My bet is that even though it was all in good fun, the left is going to hate it and will try and make something out of it. Maybe they’ll put all the jokes the didn’t like in a binder or something.

In fairness I will say Obama was funny too..or should I say he read his script well.
Reminded me a lot of Reagan up there throwing barbs at the opposition.
That was truly witty. Clever and laugh out loud funny! And closed with a very presidential flair.
It also diffuses many of the “strength” the liberals took from the last two debates. Mockery is balloon busting.
Obama was enraged. The constant sipping of coffee told that tale. I’m no body language expert, but that is done to distract and mask anger or nervousness.

I was reading the comments over on the HuffPo, and it is amazing what the left mind sees and hears!
How about the line about how he admires St. Peter and that Christ said “ Upon this rock I will build my church “ and that the story is all the more inspiring when you consider that he had so many scoffers and skeptics who heard of saying “ if you got a church ? you didn’t build that “ ....

I think that one word says it all “classy”...exactly what the Food Stamp President lacks - “class”.
That was my thought- I’ve not seen such a succinct and polite shredding before.
Makes me believe Romney can handle Putin, et al.

Romney is a class act.
Some of his humor was self-deprecating and he did have kind words for Obama as well, not just jabs. I dont think I could bring myself to note Obama’s ‘wonderful family’ just days after having the guy lie to my face at my expense.
One of Romney’s self-deprecating jokes was about “this guy (Coumo) has been a governor for just one term and his Dad was a governor and he thinks he is ready to be President.” one of several good ones.
