My wife was on another person's FaceBook page where that other lady, and several others, were complaining about the cost of capitalism. Since Amazon was charging sales tax in Arizona, the lady said she could not afford to buy books through them and she blamed capitalism. She went on to say that is why she would not vote for Romney because he was a capitalist.
I lived in socialist Sweden and...horrors!...people paid for books there, too! Not everyone can be on the higher side of average intelligence, I guess.
There is no cure for stupid......
Say what? She must be the same dingbat who thinks deer crossing signs were so the deer know where to cross the road.
An old friend of mine, who has always had strong conservative values, refuses to vote for anything but Democrats... Because a man treated him very badly in a professional situation him unjustly was the head of the local Republican party.
He got mad at me for pointing out the errors of his ‘logic’.
People are stupid.
And deserve the government they get.
I know plenty of people like this Facebook poster.
These same people will tell you with a straight face that Cuba isn’t successful and socialism fails specifically because of Capitalism along with NOT having the RIGHT people implement a peoples paradise.
In their warped view, eliminate capitalism and socialism will thrive, YET they ignore the failings in North Korea or the Soviet Union.
This is the kind of ignorance that allows evils like socialism and communism to gain a foothold. These people are concrete thinkers incapable of critical analysis of anything, you have to “show them.” By then, it’s too late.
Corporatism, Not Capitalism: The free market has nothing to do with the current crisis

Amazon does not “charge” tax...
Not sure of AZ laws, but I suppose Amazon collects taxes on sales made to residents of AZ as a course of doing business, and in accordance with AZ law...
I’ve made a concerted effort to cut ties as much as possible with the Socialists and the stupid (redundant, I know) in my life...(Are they Socialists because they’re stupid, or stupid because they’re Socialist? Does it matter?)
Cutting ties has included the horrendous “Facebook”...
Humble suggestion that you all try it...You’ll be a lot happier...There’s no helping those people...
Where does a socialist get money to buy books?
Money is capitol. Socialists don’t want it.
Someone should tell her how much of her family income would be confiscated by the state if all the enterprises like Amazon were government owned and operated.
Of course, since she would never even see the money removed from their paychecks before they got them, she’d still, in ingorance be praising how cheap Amazon had become, which she’d admit was a good thing because for some reason she did not understand they all had become much poorer.
Or capital, even...
One of the goals of communism, explain that capitalism doesn’t work.
Artificial intelligence
Technically.....they teach..../S
See? I can’t even sphul it right! Proves my point! ;)
It’s Faturday and sum times the finguhs don’t quite work....
The biggest problem is that when most people talk about "*isms" (capitalism, fascism, socialism, communism, etc) they don't have the faintest idea of what it is their talking about, particularly in terms of economic definitions, but for the most part, by any definition.
For example, I once had a manager who told me that I support "socialism" because I support the idea of fire departments or police departments. I tried to explain to him that people banding together to form governments, and incorporating agencies in those governments to perform services for the governed is NOT "socialism."
What most people don't know is that the core of socialism is central planning of the economy. While most people will agree that "the government can't pave the f***ing roads (tip of the hat to Dennis Miller)" when they support socialism, they're advocating turning over the complete economy to that very same government!

I'm not positive, but I believe that it depends on where Amazon has its "fulfillment centers" and warehouses. I believe that there's one in Kansas, and that's why I have to pay tax when I buy something from Amazon. But as you say, it's in accordance with state law.

What grades does she teach?
