THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION

During my second month of night school, our professor gave a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"

Obviously this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper leaving the last question blank.

Before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count on our quiz grade. "Absolutely," said the professor. "In your lives, in your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care."

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her first name was Dorothy.

One of the biggest pet peeves of my working life...without the "little people" doing their jobs, the folks "upstairs" couldn't function.

Busy day, but a lot of parental things crossed off the list. Thought I was done, but my Dad’s finger stick results were way high and the nurse said avocados, broccoli, and romaine lettuce would help get the # down. So tomorrow is a Costco run.

No..we are back to 80s and may hit 90..The mornings are much cooler than summertime.
Allergies have made me miserable lately and now I have bronchitis..That’s why I haven’t been posting.
