ELYRIA, Ohio — When an Elyria man woke up early Friday and found a burglar trying to steal electronics from his living room, he fought back.
Lieutenant Andrew Eichenlaub of the Elyria Police Department told Fox 8 reporter Elisa Amigo that the 53-year-old Water Street man pulled out a gun and fired shots when the 29-year-old burglary suspect lunged at him.
The man had been sleeping downstairs with a gun because someone had broken into his home the previous morning and stolen a TV, Elyria police said.
Investigators say it appears as though the same burglar returned to the home the next morning, and was shot after he crawled in through an unlocked window.

Being more vulnerable to a second break in after the first break in is a terrible feeling. I am glad the guy made it somewhat easy for the burglar to get into the house by leaving the window unlocked so he could blow the guy away. Being targeted is awful. The castle doctrine allows implementing this strategy to get rid of someone who will perpetually target you and your home.

Nope. It will turn out that the perp early voted and one the perps hos will claim the obamaphone {along with the TV that he was trying to steal}.

Hopefully the homeowner is not made to jump through too many hoops. He will have enough to deal with having to have killed the POS perp. Bureaucrats and sob sisters would be a quite unwelcome additional PITA at this time.

Good. The left wants to take this right from us. They love it when a downtrodden poor underclass oppressed have-not just walks in and “redistributes” wealth from a hard-working productive member of society.
The reason why the left wants to take guns away from honest people is because they want the normal person defenseless against the obama voter.

There was an “unlocked window??” Looks like the homeowner set a little trap for the perp, doesn’t it? Good for him!! One less thief, one more good use of the Castle Doctrine!
You know that the libs and the Al Sharpton wish the perp was black. Then they would hold candle light vigils and call for repeal of the castle law and more gun control.
The over all crime has just went down in the area who knows how many crimes still fellow will not preform anymore.
