Two trailblazing women who became the first female participants in the notoriously brutal Marine Corps’ Infantry Officer Course have dropped out of the program, according to the Stars and Stripes.

The two female lieutenants failed to complete the combat endurance test portion of the program, as did 26 male Marines.

Not in combat units since the very early days, when IIRC a few did.
Now they are in support roles, though also IIRC these could be pretty close to the frontline.

doesn’t matter to me if they passed at twice the rate of men and with twice as good a score...are they required to sign up for the draft? why not?

until they can be drafted, they’ll never be “equal”.
“equal” presumes equal responsabilities.

Men and women are different, and only idiots pretend otherwise. Putting men and women together in combat endangers the men in more ways than one.

Women's lib 101 - Equal when they want to be, special when they want to be. They get to choose.

“The two female lieutenants failed to complete the combat endurance test portion of the program, as did 26 male Marines.”

Right. Some males failed, but ALL THE WOMEN FAILED. Not just any women, women specially selected as most likely to pass.

Israel has their women doing non combat functions. The 121st Intel watched The Fence. The girls say the guys don’t have the attention span to do it.

The bayonet class has always been at the top of complaints from females, and in the real world we all know why.

Given the choice of facing a real hand to hand struggle to the death in a bayonet fight, any human would rather face a female unit instead of a male unit.

I know that Israel has women in the military. Do you know whether they serve “in combat” or not? I sincerely don’t know.

Well, there was that article posted here a week or two ago where the young woman in the IDF platoon hid behind a bush until the shooting was over (incident at the Egyptian border)...

Based on that the answer to "serving in combat" would be "inconclusive."

I sure wish somebody would inject reality into this stuff: infantry combat is brutal, direct face-to-face murder and no place for ladies or weak men.

Nothing has changed. Even though the different interest groups would like to "break through all barriers", this isn't one that they should come near. War is killing, nothing more, nothing less.

The left is against the draft, but if one comes, they would LOVE to see females drafted.

The left switched strategy about 30 years ago to get as many females and homosexuals, etc into the military as possible.

The goal is to make the military at least 50/50 female.

The big picture is to turn the military into a well paid, high benefits government career (unionized) of day care, and social works, and a democrat voting block, and destroy the last conservative male fortress contaminating the federal government.

Women have no business in combat. This is just PC nonsense.

This is the case everywhere, in sports (golf) and employment - lower the bar to make it unfair to men.

Golf? Huh?

There was a woman who sued to play in a PGA tournament for men and won the chance through a court order. She got a substantial handicap in teeing off (but lost, thankfully.)

I follow the PGA quite closely and am completely unfamiliar with the unsupported claim you're making. How about a name or tournament or date or any specifics at all?

Your general point gets undermined if the specifics you cite as support turn out to be untrue.

“I want to try to open up a door, maybe, for women after me. I don’t know how far it will open, but I’m hoping to make a difference for women down the road.”

That’s the wrong reason to enter the program. The right reason is because you want to be a Marine Infantry Officer and are prepared to serve in that role.

Respect them for making the effort. But DO NOT CHANGE THE STANDARDS! 26 men failed, too.
