CBS News has released a clip of an interview by Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes on Sep. 12 with President Barack Obama that indicates Obama knew the assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was a premeditated terror attack--and suggests the White House later deceived the public by blaming protests against an anti-Islam video. CBS chose not to air the clip for over a month--but did air Obama’s attack on Romney that same night.
Obama told Kroft that the attack in Benghazi was different from the violent protest at the U.S. embassy in Cairo: "You're right that this is not a situation that was exactly the same as what happened in Egypt, and my suspicion is, is that there are folks involved in this who were looking to target Americans from the start."
Obama's remarks pointed towards a premeditated attack, in contrast to the story the White House went on to tell for weeks. CBS chose not to air that portion of the interview with President Obama--not even in the days and weeks that followed, when it was highly relevant--first to the question of the nature of the Benghazi attack, then to the question of whether the president had in fact called it an act of terror from the start.
According to Fox News, the clip first appeared online on Oct. 19. It was embedded Oct. 24 in an article by CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson. What CBS chose to air, instead, was President Obama’s attack on his Republican rival, Mitt Romney, who had criticized the administration’s apologetic response to the Cairo demonstration.

I just watched/listened to the Obama UN speech on Sept 25, 2012. He absolutely and repeatedly refers to a root cause of the violence in Benghazi being the video slandering the prophet of islam.
He does it from the 13 minute mark through the 21 minute mark in the 30 minute speech. The key quote is at 20:36.

But once he had opened his "the disgusting Mohammed video did it" line of BS, he really ran and ran with it, showing his clearly higher loyalty to Sharia principles than to the Bill of Rights.
I mean, just imagine whipping the video hysteria up for two weeks, and then using it as the focal point of a major speech at the UN!

I think Huma is a key player in all that is unfolding. Michelle Bachman had it right and was successfully marginalized.

You know, I watched an interview of the LTC who was the head of the DOD team in Benghazi who was asking for more security and who then had his own team pulled out a few weeks before the attack.
He was asked straight up that if the Ambassador knew how dangerous the situation in Benghazi was, why did he go there on 911? The answer that LTC gave was, I believe, very revealing...but in his own way. He said,
“Yes, he knew it was dangerous, but I believe that his commitment to ‘complete the mission’ took him there.”
The obvious question then is...what was the “mission?”
I now believe they were negotiationg directly with Al Quida operatives to run guns to the rebels in Syria...but to the Islamic Fundamental rebels, who themselves are Al Quida sympatthizers and that the whole thing went bad.
There is something like this...so deep and dark...that is driving this administrations actions. Something they will lie blatantly about...and brazingly...to try and keep it from coming to light.
Simple incompetence does not make sense here. It may answer some questons, but not nearly all.

Shugart and Gordon asked to be set down in Mogadishu to try and save their fellow Americans. They had to know that it was probably a last stand for them. That’s courage. Those were warriors. It is an affront to their memory that no effort was made to help the Americans in Benghazi. I don’t care if all they could do was buzz them with a drone and then crash it into whoever they could find. I don’t care if American pilots had to land at an unsecured airport after dropping their ordinance because they were out of fuel. We’re Americans Goddamnit! We take care of each other when the bullets are flying. You think those New York Firefighters wanted to go up those stairs on 9/11? Those were warriors! They were by God going to try. Obama and Hillary need to resign because they’re chickenshit. I want to hear from the head of the Air Force and the head of the Navy about what could have been done. I don’t have any trust in Obama or Hillary or Biden or Panetta or Petraeus or Seymour. What the hell happened? Americans died!
I think you are spot on - They needed a reason to cover for their inaction. They did not raise a finger to support the living.
Crowds of (otherwise) good people protesting something (anything reasonable) provide that cover.
The White House - OBAMA- listened and did nothing over the course of 6 hours, while our people fought for their lives.
McCain is a traitor. I will never forget his words (paraphrased): “You have nothing to fear from Obama.” He knew exactly who he was and lied. If he didn’t know, then he falls into the “idiot” category.
McCain is a slow learner. After the Libya fiasco, he’s still for arming the Syrian “rebels” AKA Al Queda front groups.
(Which is what they were doing in Behghazi, transferring arms via Turkish ships to Syria. Which was why Stevens was in Benghazi on 9-11 off all days, meeing the Turks to discuss the shipments.)
