Democrats Preparing to Oust Nancy Pelosi
BREITBART ^ | 10/25 | LEE

House Democrats will hold their leadership elections on November 29, and the late date has led to speculation that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will step down and groom potential successors to take her place.

According to The Hill, some in Congress feel "Pelosi might be preparing to step down after 25 years on Capitol Hill, and that she plans to use her return in the lame-duck session to groom a challenger to Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), who is eager to move up the ladder."

Hoyer, Rep. James Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrats, and a new generation of Democrats have been waiting to move up the leadership ladder while Pelosi has been their leader for a decade.

The Hill notes younger Democratic leaders have been "anxiously" waiting for Pelosi to step down and her ten years as leader has been the longest stint in more than 50 years on the Democratic side of the aisle.

"Certainly we will see a generational shift, and that will be good," Pelosi said during the Democratic National Convention.

Ahh.... A “Don” never steps down, their are some power dynamics with this one that may not follow the normal rules. My question is what power is she still wielding behind the scenes...

As much as Pelosi deserves disdain, Republicans should WANT HER TO STAY as the Democrats’ House leader. Independents and many Democrats dislike her. Steny Hoyer is largely unknown outside of Hill circles (and, thus, NOT disliked) — but is unlikely to be any less LIBERAL. Point is, he could be more effective than the “everyone knows she’s a loony lefty” Pelosi can ever be.

Many of us were pleased as punch when they chose Pelosi, and I think we were right.

Who are we voting for now, and who is the worst choice for them to make from our perspective?

“permanent Democrat majority”

I thought it was James Carville who coined that phrase or was it 40 years of Democrat Permanent Majority.

From House Republican leadership:

Eric Cantor
Kevin McCarthy
Jeb Hensarling
Tom Price

Not inspiring, and not much chance of TEA party-type challengers.

It is especially important to not only vote for the president, but to get as many conservative congresspeople, senators, and governors as well. We need as deep of a team as we can get. The democrats will be fighting between the Obama and Clinton factions for control of the democrat party. This may mean half the experienced democrats will be banished from leadership positios. They will need to raise up a whole new generation before they can take control again.

“According to The Hill” LOL!

And there was a story run the other day that Dem senators might not re-elect Reid ML...

Wish Rs would use Nancy and Harry’s unpopularity as vigorously as the Dem’s media tries to negate it.

-——As much as Pelosi deserves disdain, Republicans should WANT HER TO STAY as the Democrats’ House leader. -——

I can’t disagree more....we need rational sane moderate democrats in the opposition party to get the country moving in the right direction....to work together....

The extreme left wing faction of the dem party need to be ousted....the leadership needs to be retired and replaced with party leaders who put country first and party second....I think they do exist but have been silenced by Nazi Peloai and her ilk....

I’ve considered your point.

No.

Asking the GOP to keep Pelosi because she’s so obviously awful, isn’t all that different than asking the Italians to keep Mussolini in power as the Allies invaded Sicily

The reason why Pelosi is less bad (for the GOP) is because a sane, rational, moderate Democratic leader is NOT the current alternative. Anyone who’s paying attention knows that the alternative is Steny Hoyer, a lifelong doctrinaire, union-goon, no-tax-is-too-high leftist like Pelosi. I’d rather have an evil opponent whom the public SEES AS evil, than an evil opponent whom they fail to see as such.
