A new poll shows the Missouri Senate race is too close to predict a winner.
The News 4, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Kansas City Star poll shows Senator Claire McCaskill with a 2 percent lead over Congressman Todd Akin, at 45 and 43 percent, respectively.
With a margin of error at plus or minus four points, and eight percent still undecided, the two remain in a statistical dead heat.

Why am I not surprised by that answer. Most of what you write comes from Democrat media talking points.
WTF??
Whatever. The RNC and the GOPe didn't put words in his mouth.
Get your facts straight Delhi Rebels..Akin is against the national minimum wage because cost of living from state to state varies. He believes states should set the wages not the feds.
“Claire McCaskill and her liberal allies are claiming that Todd Akin opposes the minimum wage. As usual, this is a distortion of Todd’s position.
Todd believes that everyone should be paid fairly. Honest work deserves honest wages. However, Todd does not believe that big government policies are the best way to ensure fair pay. Todd believes that states should be free to set their own minimum wages, rather than establishing a national minimum wage. Why should the minimum wage in Alabama be the same as it is in California or New York? Why can’t Missouri set our own minimum wage? Todd Akin believes that Missouri common sense beats Washington, DC big government solutions any day.
For hijacking this thread as well as stalking and attacking fellow FLeepers who are simply shining a positive light on Todd Akin's comeback in the polls. You have earned this award.
I want McCasKILL to lose, but take off the blinders and look at it objectively. When Akin told us it was not about him, that was a total lie. And insulting. Of course, it is about him. We all understand that. He worked hard for years to put himself in a position to be a US Senator.
Thanks, I guess. But at the risk of annoying you yet again I’ll point out that recent polls have Akin sliding not coming back.
And how is that insulting???
“Whatever. The RNC and the GOPe didn’t put words in his mouth.”
No, but they and YOU through him under the bus. You REALLY need to stop posting on this topic. You are needlessly irritating good people that support Todd Akin.
Say what you will about his six seconds of ill-advised commentary, but please don't essentially say that he is a liar; it is just not true.
Cordially,
Bye-bye Delhi......
Thank you God, ES and Jim Robinson! what an incessant and annoying little troll.
“If Akin looses, Karl Rove should be ashamed!”
You want everyone to lose, instead? Dems are making him a national issue.
Some people argue just because they like to argjue. Read again and don’t pretend it wasn’t clear. “When Akin told us it was not about him, that was a total lie. And insulting.” Telling us it was not about him was insulting. A couple sentences later I talked about how I understood how he felt because he had worked so hard. He should have simply said he was staying in the race because he can beat McCasKILL. Don’t hand us the crap that it wasn’t about him. He should have left it at telling people he would beat her.
If that is not clear enough for you, then you have a comprehension problem.
I understand that he is a good and sincere man. I did call him a liar in general, rather, I said that he lied when he said it wasn’t about him. It was obviously about him and I said I understood why. He had worked very hard to get where he is. To me, this was a parallel to a business deal in which someone says it is not about the money.
He may still win this, and that will be a great victory. It is a shame it is so close because a couple other candidates, equally pro-life and conservative would be whipping her by 10 points.
“It is a shame it is so close because a couple other candidates, equally pro-life and conservative would be whipping her by 10 points.”
Actually, that is not factual. The other candidates were not as pro-life and conservative as Akin. Mind you, all were better than McRascal, but Akin was by far the most consistently conservative. Plus, Akin DID NOT use attack ads against his GOP competitors in the primary.
I am currently a Missouri resident and Republican. I actually voted for another candidate than Akin in the primary because, at the time, I took Palin’s endorsemtnt (I will never again) and voted for another acceptable candidate. However, once Akin had won, and the GOPe turned vicously on him, I began to fully back him and send him donations. Akin is a classic example of how the GOPe will not back any candidate that is REALLY conservative....they want “moderates.”
Moderates don’t institute REAL change. Mr. Romney is greatly to be desired over Obama, and I have reached the point where I desparately (like others here) want Mr. Obama tossed out of office. However, I recognize that, although an great improvement, Mr. Romney will not - other than the economy - do anything substantial to help bring about conservatism. He will do nothing substantial about abortion, the homosexual agenda, liberal SCOTUS appointments, etc.
Mr. Romney will stop Mr. Obama’s dismantling of our culture/society, but won’t do much to restore it. Me like Todd Akin WILL insist on rebuilding it.
IF you care about things other than how fat your wallet is, then you will back me like Akin....his lack of a “silver tongue” is actually evidence of his sincere nature.
Many on this forum that denigrate Todd Akin ARE NOT for social/moral conservatism. They are ONLY “conservative” on fiscal matters - important - but NOT enough to be REALLY and FULLY conservative.
Akin has been pretty much AWOL here in Western Mo. I count [6-1 Mccaskill - Akin] media advertising . Akin and or Repub party are purposely throwing this one away maybe.
Maybe Akin campaign $$ is being spent in other parts of the state.?.. any MOFReepers in Springfield, Columbia, StJoe, could inform us.
You should have left it at that -- instead of insulting the character of a "good and sincere man" and the intelligence of the Missouri electorate with your irrelevant misperceptions.
Kansas city star is panicked over this poll. It is real and trend is in Akin’s favor
You are not going to tell me where to leave it and not get away with mischaracterizing what I say. I don’t need advice from you. I had a point to make and made it. It was BS for him to tell everyone it was not about him, and I explained why. It is understandable why it is about him. Just because you don’t wish to hear it, I am not going to stop giving my analysis and opinion.
