White House: Didn't Order 'Stand Down' in Benghazi-Rebuts allegations O denied requests for help

On Saturday afternoon a White House spokesman emphatically denied that President Obama had denied requests for help during the Benghazi attack. "Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied any requests for assistance in Benghazi," wrote National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor in an email to Yahoo News.

That rebuttal follows a TV interview on Friday in which Obama avoided responding to a question about whether CIA operatives were told to "stand down" during the Benghazi attack.

KYLE CLARK, KUSA-TV, Denver: Were they denied requests for help during the attack?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Well, we are finding out exactly what happened. I can tell you, as I've said over the last couple of months since this happened, the minute I found out what was happening, I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we're going to investigate exactly what happened so that it doesn't happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice. And I guarantee you that everyone in the state department, our military, the CIA, you name it, had number one priority making sure that people were safe.

In a separate radio interview on Friday, Obama pushed back on Fox News allegations that he lied about the administration's response.

"I've always been straight with the American people," the president told Philadelphia radio host Michael Smerconish.

"What's true is that the intelligence was coming in and evolving as more information came up," Obama said, explaining why his administration's explanation had changed in the hours and days after the attack.

Who’s left?

Maybe they'll blame it on some soldier's Mommy, who told him he damn well better not risk his life...

From various other reports I've read (or skimmed over), there have now been 2 Generals (incl Gen Ham) and 1 Admiral who have been relieved of their duty. If these 3 brave men either ignored a decision from above to "stand down" or, in the face of a "no decision" were preparing to implement a rescue mission anyway, then ultimately somebody above them has some explaining to do.

With this administration giving the run-around, we may never know who that person is ... although I have my strong suspicions as to where the buck stops ... (cough) ... POTUS.

This event is going on it’s 7 week. No investigation has been held by any Republican, Were operating on rumor, speculation grabbing at anything.
Why? Are we waiting for the election to be held first? Dead Americans (again)
and no one in charge. We have no one under oath to even confirm radio contact between the embassy and the White House and who said what to who.

re: “”Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied any requests for assistance in Benghazi,”

Someone DENIED help and three times gave the order to those who could help to “STAND DOWN”. Who gave that order??!!

Obama and his administration must not get away with this - they cannot just deny that they had anything to do with it or that they never received the requests - a direct order was given three times to stand down. This is not an act of omission - it was an act of co-mission.

Even taking Obama at his word, which I don’t, if he didn’t give the order, then who did? We need to know this prior to the election.

***Is it a possibility that ... we'll never know THE perpetrator who actually issued the fatal "stand down" order???***

It was G.W. Bush.

Actually this will be openly revealed at exactly the same time as Fast & Furious is revealed: the twelfth of never...

Petraeus should have stayed in the military... now he is in danger of being seen as a political hack instead of a military hero.

He is lying. He was the only one who could countermand a standing order of that magnitude.

It was either done by him personally or someone else did it in his name but it was done under his authority.

After all the lies, the MSM press and WH will have ended up portraying the event as the 2 rogue ex-SEALS causing the deaths of Smith and Stevens, and the militant attackers were a Libyan security response team that saved the day.

A suggestion/warning for all ambassadors/embassy staff posted in dangerous areas.

Don’t depend on help from POTUS, SOD, SOS or the CIA! They will not respond to any SOS’s. Then they will deny that you asked for help.

Buy or rent an Iridium Sat Phone and put Fox News Desk, Rush, Drudge, Rush and Free Republic on your speed dial, to text or call when you don’t want to be slaughtered and need help.

That way the liars of this administration in charge of denying protection for you, can’t deny that you asked for help.

Don’t waste your remaining time contacting ABCNNBCBS! They are too busy protecting Obozo and his liars while looking for binder and racism lies save the butt of the traitor and his fellow thugs!

Obama Administration Replaces Top Generals Following Benghazi Disaster
Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, October 27, 2012, 3:45 PM

General Carter Ham

The latest rumor making the rounds is that Barack Obama replaced General Carter Ham at Africom after the general made a move to help the US security officials at the Benghazi consulate and annex. Ham was replaced by Gen. David Rodriquez on October 18.
Tiger Droppings reported:

The information I heard today was that General [Carter] Ham as head of Africom received the same e-mails the White House received requesting help/support as the attack was taking place. General Ham immediately had a rapid response unit ready and communicated to the Pentagon that he had a unit ready.

General Ham then received the order to stand down. His response was to screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second in command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command.

The story continues that now General Rodiguez would take General Ham’s place as the head of Africom.

Sure enough Obama nominated Gen. David Rodriguez to replace Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command.
The Stars and Stripes reported:

President Barack Obama will nominate Army Gen. David Rodriguez to succeed Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command and Marine Lt. Gen. John Paxton to succeed Gen. Joseph Dunford as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced Thursday.

Both appointments must be confirmed by the Senate.

Rodriguez is the commander of U.S. Army Forces Command and has served in a “variety of key leadership roles on the battlefield,” Panetta said.

He’s “a proven leader” who oversaw coalition and Afghan forces during the surge in Afghanistan, and “was the key architect of the successful campaign plan that we are now implementing,” Panetta said.

In announcing Ham’s successor, Panetta also praised the work Ham has done with Africa Command.

“Gen. Ham has really brought AFRICOM into a very pivotal role in that challenging region,” Panetta said. “I and the nation are deeply grateful for his outstanding service.”

The Obama Administration also relieved the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette. It is highly unusual for the Navy to replace a carrier strike group commander during its deployment.
The Stars and Stripes reported:

The Navy said Saturday it is replacing the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, pending the outcome of an internal investigation into undisclosed allegations of inappropriate judgment.

Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette is being sent back to the USS John C. Stennis’ home port at Bremerton, Wash., in what the Navy called a temporary reassignment. The Navy said he is not formally relieved of his command of the Stennis strike group but will be replaced by Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker, who will assume command until the investigation is completed.

It is highly unusual for the Navy to replace a carrier strike group commander during its deployment.

Ace of Spades says the move to replace Rear Adm. Charles Baouette is likely not related to Benghazi.

If this was a classified military operation in his AOR, why wasn’t AFRICOM kept in the loop? He acted per his duty. When relieved, it could be considered an illegal order for his relief. Those coordinating between JTFs and the CINCs are more at fault.

One, and ONLY one, person in this world could prevent a rescue mission on 9/11/12. That person by commission or omission accomplished that feat on that fateful day. The person with that sole authority is President of the United States.

That person’s name is Barack Hussein Obama.

Hate myself for this. But in my best Bill Clinton words there is a difference between “denied any requests for assistance” and actually sending some.
