My wife is a Filipina, an RN who came to the US eighteen years ago on a work visa. She's now a newly naturalized citizen, and she just got through casting her very first mail-in ballot.
She just went on a mini-rant after watching a news segment on the two presidential campaigns' efforts to court "the much-sought-after undecided women's vote," women constituting a sizable majority of the "undecideds," apparently.
Her exasperated and repeated refrain: "I just can't believe they could still be undecided - what kind of woman can be that stupid!"
Her rant voiced a strong confirmation of her growing impression that American women are exceedingly silly, spoiled, dumb and impressionable, and lacking in any true moral or intellectual fiber. But much of her rant also voiced shame that, as a citizen, she would be lumped in now with such women. She also realizes what such idiocy in half the voting public might mean for the future of the nation she has joined, and which she once idolized from afar.
For years now, in fact since the Clinton days, there have been posts on FR openly questioning the wisdom of America allowing women the vote. My wife has now formally joined those asking that question.
My wife of 42 years from South Korea is in total agreement. What a bunch of stupid women. But she is mad as anything about the lying news media covering up all of Obama’s wrongheaded adventures with US taxpayers money. Oh yeah, she’s already voted straight ticket Republican (as usual).
I remember back in the mid-70s...the step-daughter came home from school telling of a class conversation as to why some of the girls in the class did not get good grades. The teacher said, “Well, if all of you would quit thinking below the belt then you might get good grades.”
I think that that is the basic problem here and now. Women think “below-the-belt” during elections. That is how we got saddled with Clinton.
Welfare queens of any race. Next question?? Not surprising that your wife should feel this way, though. All the Philippine immigrants I have known (our Catholic church has many) brought the oriental work ethic with them. The thought modes of "welfarism" are not part of their cultural genetic code.
Those are under enormous peer pressure, and all they want (at this stage of their lives) is to be accepted and loved by others. To think on their own critically and go against their peer is the sign of a maturing woman/young adult.
It is those middle-aged and even older Lib crones that we should pile our scorn on.
Those, who have lived, should have gathered wisdom from their life experiences yet persist in their thinking cocoon, refuse to change the way because it is too frightening to own up to their past mistakes.
The undecideds are older, poorer, less educated men and women who are too busy to follow politics.
Like a lot of people, they think that politicians are pretty much alike and are going to screw things up one way or the other.
Even those of us who do follow politics and have taken a side and chosen how to vote can recognize that they're not entirely wrong in their view of politics and politicians.
There's a limit to what elections can change. Politicians can only do so much. They'll disappoint you.
Vote anyway, though. It does matter.
BUMP!
I attribute it to the "Daddy's little princess" syndrome. Many of our women are raised with the idea that they by latching on to a "Prince Charming", they will have all their needs fulfilled and live happily ever after. Many of these women, if they are unable to find such a man in real life, will accept a politician as a substitute. Therefore you have creeps like Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton and yes, Barack Obama, who are able to manipulate these women into swooning over them, even though they typically treat women in their own lives like crap.
I believe a main reason my wife turned out hard-core conservative like I is because her father ran out on the family when she was young so she was never coddled and made to be daddy's little girl. She put herself through college courses and established her own career before she even met me.
In general, we really need to re-consider how we are raising our women. Raising them to be dependent on a man really affects their way of thinking. They end up thinking that somebody needs to provide for them, as opposed to providing for themselves. So when they are unable to find a reliable man, they have no problem having the government assume the role as provider and they vote and behave accordingly.
Illegitimate children born to unwed mothers is a huge social problem in our country, especially in poor areas, and costs us untold billions ever year in welfare/food stamps as we have literally millions of women having babies, secure in the knowledge that this is their meal ticket to a lifetime of government assistance. Granted, this is not much of a life, but most women in this situation are perfectly content to spend their lives sitting inside a subsidized apartment, watching daytime TV, secure in the fact that they will never have to work a day in their lives and yet will have all their basic needs met by way of their monthly kiss in the mail by us taxpayers. Many become satisfied with this way of life and aspire to nothing better.
Would this be such a social problem if we refused to increase welfare payments when unwed women had babies? And whatever happened to finding out who the father is and making him accountable as well? Many inner city men brag about all the "shorties" they have scattered around the hood and they are never brought to account because the mothers are happy to just sit back and increase their welfare checks. In the warped minds of these men, they are doing these women a favor by getting them pregnant because now they qualify for additional welfare benefits.
I mention all this because the fault should not lie with women only. However, as a society, we need to raise our women to be more independent and self-sufficient (as well as make the men more accountable for their actions with respect to fathering children).
Women are stupid. End of story. :-P
If women were required to register for the military draft, similar to 18 year old males, perhaps they will realize there are issues beyond “equal pay” and their body parts. They may also read or learn from a source that doesn’t have a live audience, laugh track or the latest celebrity gossip.
Your points are well taken, but I simply can’t believe someone has to pay as much attention to politics as we do to decide which way to vote.
“You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.”
If someone simply doesn’t care enough to have given this matter the small amount of attention and thought necessary to make up their mind, fair enough - but then they really ought to just stay at home and watch soap operas on election day.

Obama and the media are protraying women as sluts, voting with their “lady parts.” This is the most degrading, sexist National campaign I have seen in my lifetime.
Add to that that Obama had Sandra Fluke (? spelling) as one of the speakers at his convention complaining that women need free birth control, $9.00 per month, mind you. How stupid is that. And Sandra Fluke has been traveling the country speaking to women in hopes of getting votes for Obama. With all the problems we have in this country, they are concerned with sex.
May I add one distasteful remark-—Sandra Fluke could have a ton of birth control-—I think it would go to waste, it takes two.
This from a 77 year old!!!
Women were deceived. They thought liberation meant being able to act just like men, or at least what they thought men were like (some men are, in fact, honorable—not all are slaves to lust). So women aren’t evolving. They’re devolving. I’ll go so far as to say American culture itself is devolving. Out of wedlock births, single motherhood, rampant divorce and adultery, etc., are most certainly not symptoms of a healthy society. These “liberated” women look to government to fix the problems they have created. They are ruled by their own selfish lusts, like many men, and they expect other people to pay to mitigate the impact of their poor decisions.
Hillarybots were pulled away with promises of new shoes to support Obama. Now Hillary needs to run against Romney, so these same females are now being told that supporting Obama this time around will cut off their access to new shoes. The obama people are denying this, but these females already know Hillarymom is very, very angry with them for turning against her. On the other hand, the shoes...
So, like, it’s hard to know what to do. Which is another way of saying the bidding isn’t over yet.
My wife is very Conservative and she cannot understand anyone being undecided, she will be 39 again in July, she wasn’t of voting age vote until 1966, she’s never missed a primary or general election, never had difficulty making a decision and never voted for a democrat.
Obama's ads are down to Roe vs Wade / Planned Parenthood scare tactics in Florida. FLORIDA! His latest creepy virgin voter sex-with-Obama ad is beyond the pale and demeans all women.
I have my bit to add. My wife also approves of the wife’s (and all the wives approvals) approval. But I need to add this. My wife is Chinese, but was born in Hanoi, Vietnam. So she learned to speak Cantonese and Vietnamese. This was when the communists took over Vietnam. Then for her second and third grade school years, she lived with an uncle in mainland China and had to learn Mandarin. Upon her return to Vietnam in the late 1970s. She and her family had to escape Vietnam because they were Chinese. So, she ended up in Milan, Italy, for the next 20 years and had to learn Italian. Then 14 years ago she came to the USA. She did so because she was running away from socialism/communism. So, she had to learn English. So, this lady has actually lived in 2 communist countries and one European socialist nation. One night we were watching a speech given by obama. She turned to me and said, “This is the fourth language that I have heard the same communist lies in.” How is that for an eye-opener. My wife would agree with all the other wives who are dumbfounded by the ridiculousness of the modern American women. My wife stays as far away from these shallow women as she can.
“As a wife, I approve your wifes post and the wives approving the post. I also approve the husband approving of his wifes post and the husband who support their wives approving of the wifes post.”

Ditto !
.
At this point I don’t think there are any undecideds left. Just stay homes.
