NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Madonna drew boos and triggered a walkout by several concertgoers after she touted President Barack Obama on her "MDNA Tour" in New Orleans.

The Material Girl asked during Saturday night's performance: "Who's registered to vote?" She added: "I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama." Drawing boos in touting Obama over Republican Mitt Romney, Madonna followed: "Seriously, I don't care who you vote for ... Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote."

“Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”

So, voting’s a privilege now? Something our betters allow us to do?

I heard she also got booed in France and that the gays are turning on her which is incredible to me being that she was like a God to them (and wouldn’t have one iota of a career if it wasn’t for them as well.). Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of the karaoke frauds, this crap has been going on waaaay too long. Hiring people to write and record music then lip synching to it on stage, freakin’ unreal.

Dumb enough to waste money on a corpse in corset. Dumb enough to waste their vote on the fraud occupying the White House.

I’m surprised some nice cleanly dressed young gentlemen with names like Guidry, Boudreaux, Thibodeaux and Naquin didn’t visit her dressing room during the show and leave her a ‘gift’.... like a bucket of water moccasins.

>>She should know Obama supporters can’t afford her tickets.

Of course they can. They can afford iPhones, dubs, jewelry, Nikes, “Official” NBA/NFL appparel, etc.

They just need “assistance” with rent, food, gas, education, and utilities.

Dead on.

Bottom line is when the year end official highest grossing tours and highest earning celebrities of the year lists by Forbes are out you will once again see Madonna in first place destroying her younger so called competition. She is set to double her worth to nearly 1 billion with the current tour alone. We should all be such an old washed up hag at 54. Culturally irrelevant and pulling in half a billion dollars? I bet there are many young pop stars who wish they could be so “culturally irrelevant.”

Nothing succeeds like success, and nothing else breeds more hostility from the bitter old haters apparently.

Oh please, your argument is utter nonsense. I’ve heard it a million times well before this fraud Madonna became a “billionaire” with her BS: “Oh she makes tons of money and you’re a hater”..Please, drug dealers make tons of money. It doesn’t change the fact they’re sh*tbags. How many people voted for and are voting for Obama? Tons of people yet it doesn’t change the fact he’s a schmuck and a fraud (who also makes a lot of money just like that other fraud Al Gore). Frankly I’m sick of people like you pushing cr*p like this and legitimizing it by using money as an excuse. Madonna is THE reason why when you turn on the radio today all you get is karaoke performers, one after another and another. Nothing legit. It’s because when she became a success, record companies realized that incredibly, people were stupid enough to buy records with really no discernible singer or band or musician..absolutely nothing at all really, just a puppet and a video. Just remember that next time you listen to Top 40 radio.

I agree in a sense that the 80’s were the decade where music ultimately started on a path that steered away from the actual music. Image was to become everything. Which 30 years ago actually wasn’t that bad, because the images could be multiple, original, vibrant, eccentric and unique. The overuse of beauty and sex, can clearly be connected to the likes of Madonna. I am not blaming her for the stupid decisions of record companies or technology, videos etc - someone would have been there at that moment to change things.

The difference being that you could tell that the visuals that Madonna created were her own ideas and a huge part of her personality. Then Britney came along with “I`m a virgin” in a schoolgirl uniform and a baby voice. ALL INDUSTRY. So even though Madonna was more in charge of her career, she did open the door for Britney and co.

But Madonna has the X factor that can’t be bottled — the charisma and uncanny ability to rule the stage regardless of props or dancers. She has the outstandingly strong presence of any legendary singer/entertainer, but she has also managed to elevate pop concerts to the art hybrids we all consider to be the standard nowadays. People would not be paying 300-400 a seat for a 30 year performer if she didn’t connect with the audience at a very deep level and have control of the audience in her voice. And record companies would be making serious profits if they could clone her. lol
