Prayers up for Rev. Kirk’s family and congregation.
Sad. RIP. The only positive is it wasn’t a banjo.

A longtime Baptist pastor was fatally beaten inside his Forest Hill church Monday morning, and the suspect later died in the back of a patrol car, according to police and MedStar.
Pastor Danny Kirk was apparently inside Greater Sweethome Missionary Baptist Church, 7312 Forest Hill Drive, about 11:15 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into the side of the building.
Police Chief Dan Dennis said they believe the attack on the pastor began in the parking lot of the church, and then moved inside the church, eventually ending in the music room. When officers arrived, they found the man beating Kirk with an electric guitar, Dennis said.
An officer fired his Taser to end the assault, Dennis said. The suspect was placed in the back of a patrol car. When officers later returned to the car, he wasn't breathing, said MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky.

Kirk was ordained in 1984 and started the Forest Hill church in 1995, according to the church's website.
The church has more than 850 members and offers a food pantry, a clothing ministry and a scholarship program for students. Members were planning an expansion, largely due to the leadership of Kirk.
"People wanted to come hear and see him," youth minister Cleveland Starr said.
The pastor also was a chaplain in the Fort Worth school district.
He grew up in the Central Texas city of Marlin before moving to the Forest Hill area, Starr said.
"He was a faithful man, a religious man, who loved his family," Starr said. "You could find him at the other church or somewhere nearby. He always had time for everyone."
“Part of the suspect’s car remained inside the building. Hundreds of people were outside of the church, hugging and crying.”
Did this happen during a service, or gather there when the word got out? I don’t want to think hundreds of people just watched as he was beaten to death.

I think it happened while the pastor was the only one there. I think the parishioners showed up when they heard it on the news.
Yeah, pretty much.
The Pastor, Church Secretary and Janitor where the only people in the Church.
The Janitor joined into the fight and was wounded.
The Secretary called the Cops.
In before the Pastor’s-life-ends-on-a-sour-note pun.
Thank God for the small blessings in life.
Obama immediately blamed a heavy metal video.
God bless those involved, perpetrator excepted.
That’s terrible!... but clever.
Let me begin by sending my prayers to the family’s of all involved, and may the good Lord use this incident of evil for good.
Now, a man has just beat a pastor to death with an electric guitar, after he drives car into the side of the church, and then himself dies in the police car from wounds he received during the altercation. (I doubt his death was the result of being Tasered.)
There is an awful lot that needs to be reported yet.
Somehow, I believe this story has just begun.
I am wondering if a former worship team member had something troubling him that was so unsettling that he felt the need to take it out on the church and thus the pastor?
t would not be the first time a Pastor and a member of the church, whether it be a member of the staff or just a member of the congregation, had a falling out that led to altercations.
Christians are people to, and we all seem to struggle against things we wish we could ignore from time to time.
Maybe I have been watching too many of those investigative ID programs with my wife lately, but this could be worth keeping an eye on for awhile.
That being admitted, there is two people dead, and many questions to be answered is all I’m saying.
RIP.
Murder, greed, and lust, are not entertainment, although they have been packaged and sold that way.
Remember the outrage when a notorious abortionist was killed in church a few years ago? If only our politicians and media would make as much noise when it's a Christian pastor who's the victim of senseless violence.
