Sign of the Obamapocalypse? Up just 6 in Oregon
legal insurrection ^

Posted on 10/30/2012 9:07:33 AM PDT by Perdogg

Obama won Oregon in 2008 by 16 points.

This year his lead is down to just 6 points, per The Oregonian:

President Barack Obama holds a relatively narrow lead of six points over Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Oregon, according to a new poll conducted for The Oregonian.

Obama’s lead is considerably smaller than his margin of victory in Oregon four years ago and is a sign of how tight the presidential race has become across the nation….

Democratic officials continued to express optimism that Obama would win Oregon, which hasn’t gone for a Republican presidential candidate since 1984. But Republican activists said GOP voters in the state have shown a boost of enthusiasm that has energized Romney voters in recent weeks.

My take; it will be closer than 0bama by 6. The momentum is clearly with Romney. None of the 47%ers will change their minds to vote Romney. Instead they are going to change from likely voters to unlikely voters as they realize their hero, dear leader, is going to lose.

Not saying Romney will win Oregon, but it will be very close.

From the Oregonian article - "Pollster Stuart Elway said Romney has gained nationally as he's picked up more support from Democratic women."

This is becoming an accepted theme.

A 10% swing in each state would give Romney 106 more electoral votes than McCain in 2008. North Carolina, Indiana, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire and one extra EV from Nebraska would be the states that move. That would total 285 electoral votes.

"Don’t see Romney winning Oregon. Too many whackos in Portland."

All he needs is one point come Nov 6. Actually, in Oregon and Washington a close race is good enough because that's when their recount teams go to work.

Jimmy Carter won in 1976, not because of a surge in Democratic voters, but because of a big drop-off in Republican turnout.

Bush lost to Gore in 2000 in Oregon by only .05%. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Oregon goes Romney.

I’m sure 0bama’s ‘anti-farmer’ Agenda 21 hasn’t sat well with some Oregonians, not to mention the 3 or 4 dams the 0bama regime wants to destroy there, wiping out large swaths of farm land to make salmon happy.

I seem to remember seeing an article at FR within the past couple of weeks that had a poll from the state of WA showing just a 5-point lead for Obama. Wonder where that state stands today.

One thing to remember when someone is trailing by 6%.

It only takes 3% + 1 to flip it.

Yes, they do buy it but the consumer doesn't pump it! I think their pump jockeys look for out of state license plates and run out to those cars to ensure the person doesn't try to start pumping. It's against the law.
