Obama cancels third campaigning day to oversee storm response

Obama will be in Washington to "monitor the response to Hurricane Sandy and ensure that all available federal resources continue to be provided to support ongoing state and local recovery efforts," White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.

"As a result, the president will not participate in the campaign events that had been scheduled in Ohio tomorrow."

Obama had already skipped political events on Monday and Tuesday to be in Washington for the storm and its aftermath.

Obama held a video-teleconference in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday about the storm with top members of his team, including Vice President Joe Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, and Craig Fugate, the heads of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"During the briefing the president expressed his concern for those impacted by the storm, as well as the heroic first responders who are selflessly putting themselves in harm's way to protect members of their communities," the White House said in a statement.

Well OBummer’s concern for storm damage is a hell of a lot more than he showed for his Benghazi staff, who he betrayed.

Another day of Obama pretending to work. More than likely he’s in the Oval Office watching episodes of “Homeland.”

Nah, "Home Shopping Network"...

"Uh, yeah, those leather white/brown golf shoes with the gold spikes? Size 11..."

I think he’s trying to un-ring the Benghazi bell.......which he can’t.

I will be surprised if I am wrong about this -

0bama’s reputation is built in long hence, and no amount of “pretending he is president” now is going to make a whit of difference to voters. Though -bama, Axlerod, and crew are now reduced to gambling that the effect you are touting will have a useful effect, I believe that something else will occur:

The “base” and “reachable” voters for him who need to constantly be fed hype in order to get out of their comfort zone to vote will lose energy rapidly, just like the “superstorm Sandy” is now barely producing 30mph gusts 20 hours after landfall. Democrats turnout will go down next Tuesday due to this. Those who are voting for R&R, or who are “reachable” by R&Rm will not be affected by any such slowdown. That is due to R&R voters being far more likely to be self starters, and TeaPartiers, and we have been crawling over broken glass ever since we accosted the Senate with phone calls and much more over the 2007 immigration bill. We have not tired, nor will we.

I wager that the result will be a major swing this week toward the whole GOP ticket, at all levels, in every state. Much as the loss of McCain’s electoral position ‘08 is now blamed on his “suspending his campaign” due to the “economic crisis”, the coming ‘12 debacle for the Dems will be blamed on -bama leaving the field, to pretend to be president, leaving the rest of the Dems to drift by themselves. Not even the upcoming film/TV feature that Hollywood and the Dinosaur TV networks are now working with the Whitehouse to produce and air this weekend featuring the fearless exploits of the “storm-battered president” will manage to change it. People will see it as simple pretense.

Pretending to be president.

Too bad for Stevens and Woods that he didn’t bother to even pretend to be president on Sep.11. If he had done so, instead of being a perpetual campaigner and entertainment event attendee, they might still be alive.

He might as well suspend the rest of his stops...he was preaching to the choir and he wasn’t saying anything of value anyway. Big Bird? Binders? Give me a break.

I think most of the damage that can be done on Benghazi has been done. The rest will come out later. Let’s get this thing back to the economy and jobs for the last five days.

At his little presser at the Red Cross today he actually said “America doesn’t leave people behind”.
