Dominican hookers, to be specific. This is what we’re hearing about the sex scandal involving a “powerful senator” in a headline being touted by Drudge, with a story by the Daily Caller promised late tonight.
UPDATE: Shortly after the Drudge Report headline went up, my associate Ali Akbar got a tip that the story involved Sen. Menendez of New Jersey and at least one prostitute with whom he trysted on a taxpayer-funded trip to the Dominican Republic. Within one hour, Akbar had confirmed this with other sources, and we understand that numerous reporters in D.C. have heard similar reports.
UPDATE II: Some online sources are saying underaged Dominican hookers, but Ali’s sources cannot confirm the age of the alleged partner.
UPDATE III: Menendez’s Republican challenger is Joe Kyrillos who, unless I’m mistaken, suddenly became a serious contender.

Possibly dem inflicted “friendly fire” to offer up one of their own so they can blame it on republicans and say “How dare they bring up last minute sleaze on a candidate in a state in a disaster area”.

Oh Please. He's a Democrat. It was (illegal, immoral, and disgusting but still) consensual sex with adult women. You think this story will matter in Jersey - the most cynical state in the union? Nope. Nobody'll care and it could very easily backfire if people view it as Republican sleazy politicking.

Amusing but at the end of the day, it isn’t going to make any difference. Bob is divorced and picked up a hooker — unsavory and crass but I really don’t care.

Isn’t it illegal for a Senator to accept such lavish gifts from a donor, without reporting it? …the use of a private plane, and an island estate?

I’d say that this is the other way around. Menendez knew this was coming and invited Obama to New Jersey to help with his campaign. Christie was just a tag along. I would bet that Christie was told that Obama was coming to NJ at the invitation of Menendez and Christie was welcome to join them or look like an ineffectual partisan hack.
I’m going to ask this again. Isn’t it illegal for a Senator to accept lavish gifts, like the use of a private plane and an island estate from a donor?
