People along the battered U.S. East Coast slowly began reclaiming their daily routines Thursday, even as crews searched for victims and tens of thousands remained without power after superstorm Sandy claimed more than 70 lives.
SNIP-----
Tempers flared. A man screamed at emergency officials in Hoboken about why food and water had not been delivered to residents just a few blocks away. The man, who would not give his name, said he blew up an air mattress to float over to a staging area.

Democrats, Obamatrons, minorities and women hardest hit.
Film at 11.
Preppers’ PING!!
Are these the same that were told by their govenors to evacuate?
Is this flooding deep water or do people just not want to slog through knee deep?
Yes it is, I thank the Lord he sent me to Alaska years ago.
Looters disguised as utility workers.
Only 13 arrests.
Political photo-ops.
Just another day in post-Constitution America.
“A man screamed at emergency officials in Hoboken about why food and water had not been delivered to residents just a few blocks away”
Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli?
I wouldn’t want to slog through the water, just think for a minute what’s in it? sewage, chemicals, petroleum,etc... and whats under it ready to cut, scrape, puncture you?
Does Hoboken have a lot of Government wards?
And I am sure the media will rush to blame Obama for this just the way they rushed to blame Bush for the delay in getting aid to NOLA that was largely the fault of state and local officials.
Not.
I can’t believe it. . .I’m the first one to say it: BUSH’S FAULT!!!!
Hoboken is an armpit.
I don’t know there are a lot of white people without power, many without homes, almost a week after Sandy...???
For those of us going through this it’s saddening and revealing to find out that FR has its share of aholes. I have seen it in every thread devoted to the storm. And I’ll bet that all of those posting this garbage consider themselves good people.
It’s only been a couple of days this fool should have had enough canned goods to last him that long.
Since when does the Government guarantee home delivery of food 2 days after a storm?
Forgive the NYT linkage but this is (npi) illuminating:
Plain eyeful of where the power’s out.
I watched some women on Breezy Point being interviewed on one of the local news programs yesterday afternoon. She was upset because the notice to evacuate wasn't delivered in a strong enough manner.
What a moron.
Sadly, the parasites and criminals will invite all sorts of crassness upon those good people caught up in this mess with them, as well as grab the majority of airtime and column inches in the media.
I pray you fare well, and things get back to normal for you soon.
There was many an ‘expert’ right here on FR who claimed the storm was nothing more than a light spring breeze and soft shower of rain or that there was no danger and the whole thing was made up to ‘save’ ‘Bama’.
That doesn’t even included those who thought ‘Bama’ had conjured up the storm or had used some Super Top Secret weather control machine to create it.
So I am not surprised people didn’t believe anything bad was going to happen.
